Sangakkara may be batting abit low at 7, but it just makes the batting line-up even stronger, especially with Flintoff at 8 and Lee at 9. Mendis and Steyn are out and out wicket takers. Muralitharan is the proven bowler, but Mendis is the next big thing, and even the top Indian players have had trouble playing him. There aren't many other players that I'd consider for a place in the side tbh, that's the best XI in World Cricket for my money.

Some will argue the inclusion of Anderson but he genuinly deserves his place. I can think of only Stuart Clark who would get in there ahead of him.

Jimmy has matured this summer. Far more consistent than we are used to. Was in the top 10 for most wickets in a summer by an English bowler. 33, was it? He is an excellent fielder, as we all know. Batting improving too. Is this finally the time when he is the mainstay of the attack?

That's off-topic, slightly. Not so sure he'd make many others World XI's. But not a ridiculous choice.

well I like your idea of one player from each nation but wouldnt it make more sense to have Chanderpaul instead of Taylor. I like Taylor he is my favorite WI player but Chanders deserves it more, also for Bangladesh I would have included Shahadat Hossain over Ashraful.
