Story World Tour With The Windies

Looking good mate, nice realistic run-rate :) and well poised in your innings. I hope the England batting lineup can cause you as many problems, or at least a few more than the Bangladesh line up did ;)

Further update: Shiv and Jacobs put together a great 6 wicket partnership of 64, before Jacobs edged Giles to Flintoff for 32. The score now 282/6, England now into the tail...

Some good driving both on the front foot and off the back by Shiv and Jacobs..

Bish: " Shivs plays a great knock of 76, before been lbw to Vaughn. Vaughn takes his 3rd wicket, and the windies are now exposed. England look to wrap the innings up quickly..."

Botham: " England have bowled the West Indies out for 325 in 90.2 overs. Great spin bowling by the skipper and Giles sharing 7 wickets between them. Funny though is that the pitch didnt take too much turn, but just the bounce may have posed a few problems. Its a good total by the toursits though, and will definitely have the bowling power to reduce England here. England did fight back dramatically here, but 325 is indeed a great total on this wicket, with the atmosphere still a bit damp..your thoughts Ian..."

Bish: " Yes, a good total indeed, however England I think can post a total near that, but it will really depend on how well the West Indies bowl and field. I think the seamers are the ones to take the responsiblility now and say "hey, I put my hand up, and Im gonna produce the goods here." Shiv is expecting much here, the weather isn't too good, but if the openers can weather this early onslaught which I believe will be from Edwards and Collins then we will definitely have a great contest on..."

Update: England are off to a flyer!! They are motoring along here. They're 82/1 after just 16.2 overs, with Strauss particularly severe on Edwards hitting him for 2 4's and 2 6's. Tres has been a bit more sedate. A painstaking though 9 off 43 deliveries, sees him edging a fuller delivery Jacobs off Collins. West Indies manage to pick up 1 wkt, but the danger man Strauss is on 43 in 49 balls. Some highlights here...

Brilliant batting by Strauss. How could you possibly think you could beat England at home :D

I will be going all the way Gary, tough, but worth the battle!

Update: England have progressed nicely, but just lost Butcher for 4 bowled around his legs by Tino Best. Strauss has played some good shots and his skipper is there is full support of this english fightback. Some good highlights here...

Bish: " Strauss has played a great hand here in his half century, and england will be hoping that he stays there with Vaughn to continue on. Vaughn has played some good shots thus far and this partnership may just be a bit troublesome for the Windies to break here..."

Dillon strikes!!!

Botham: " Big Merv has struck here, by removing england's talisman Strauss lbw for 62. It was a good strategy by Dillon to come around the wicket to get one to comeback and hit Strauss plumb. Its 120/3..."

Windies pacers strike!!!

Botham: " West Indies have got their tails up here. Its been a wonderful spell of fast bowling by the quartet of Dillon, Best, Collins and Edwards. After Strauss was dismissed for 62, Vaughn followed playing on to Collins for 20, and then Freddie was bowled by a slower delivery from Edwards, his leg stump knocked back. England now are in a spot of bother at 160/5 with Thorpe and Geraint Jones the last pair of recoginzed batsmen."
