Story World Tour With The Windies

Windies wobble!!!

Botham: " England have struck!! Over the moon!! they have skittled the Windies for 114 all out. A dramatic bowling change by Vaughn to bring in Simon Jones, as the first change bowler, got Jacobs caught behind, and Best followed likewise. Flintoff 2nd change then got Smith caught brilliantly by Simon Jones on the boundary for a star performance of 41 and then cleaned the tail up by bowling Fidel for 6. Collins hit a few meaty blows to scamper the lead past 200. Drama here, and England are set 226 runs to win here with 2 days to spare. Their bowlers have bounced back with trump cards, question is can their batsmen bring them home?? Bish..."

Bish: " England's pacers have come to the party here, wrecking the Windies for a paltry 114. The seamers have out their hands up here, and have shared the workload evenly here, to give Michael Vaughn's men a shot to take a 1-0 lead after trailing most of this match, can this be the turning point here??"

Bish: " Well its tea here on day 3 and England chasing 226 to win have started solidly here. However, the West Indies did manage to pickup Tres lbw to Eddie for a duck. Strauss set the innings alight as he did in the 1st, with some delightful stroke play square of the wicket and off his pads. Fidel is expensive, and too full one would feel. He needs to get his rythm and line more accurate. England have a very important session ahead and will need to keep their wickets intact here..." Highlights...

Dramatic session...

Botham: " Well Bish what a turn around to this game yet again! England at one stage 52/1 then lost Strauss bowled by Collins, then a mini partnership of 31 restored their on course to victory. Enter Tino Best who took 5/36 in the 1st innings and Big Merv, who completely almost put the english out of commission with a fiery spell of fast bowling. Butcher was beaten for pace, Vaughn flayed at one outside off, and Thorpe a leading edge, it was all downhill for England. The Windies smell a a great victory here, going into this 4th day, unless heroics from Giles can prevent that..."

Bish: " The seamers have once again come to the fore for Shiv. Good control and movement in the air, I feel has outdone the England batsmen. Flintoff a rare duck, bowled through the gate, a poor run of form continues for him, but no one has really settled and got on top of the bowling here. England are now 156/8 as we speak, Simon Jones lost his middle stump to Dillon for a duck and really the West Indies should wrap it up here and go 1-0 up..."

OH NO!. Even if England lose it has been a great match and the Windies have done really well to maybe clamber a win

Windies win!!!

Bish: " West Indies wrap up a great 4th day test win at Lords by 63 runs. England continuing from the last update at 156/8 could only muster 163 all out. Merv Dillon was the key wicket taker capturing 5/26. England's lower order couldn't hold on, but credit must be given to the Windies here, especially when the match turned every now and then. Great win for Shiv, England I wouldn't write off, I expect them to hit back strongly here in the upcoming 2nd test match...Ian"

Ian: " Yea great win for the men of the Caribbean a close game by 63 runs. As I said earlier, any target 200 and more would be difficult. England looked solid, but losing Vaughn and then Flintoff the next delivery really opened the Windies chances. Not enough runs from the middle order and in general England's batters. They need to come better than that. Bowlers are great here, but I think its a situation where the coach and Management need to rethink a strategy as to combat this surprising defeat, and I say surprising due to the poor form of West Indies from the past series. Nonetheless 1-0 up and the West Indies confidence should be on a high here.

MoM: Shivnarine Chanderpaul, for a brilliant innings of 76 which propelled the West Indies to a 1-0 lead...

Good win by the Windies. It was still a great effort by England to pull them back.
