Worst fielders in the modern game?

i think we can put it down to a bad night....

he isnt even close to being as bad as the likes of Franklin in the series, he was dropping under 12's stuff

Yea certainly not the worst fielder going around just yet, if he played to hes 40 he would have that title though ;)

the only thing that has gone down is slip fielding for Australia...but i think thats due to Mark Waugh, Shane Warne and even back as far as Mark Taylor retiring...they..especially the two marks..were great slippers..Ponting is good because he catches almost anything, Hayden is good but he is mainly a gully fieldsman and he is on the way out...

Clarke can field but can he slip field? maybe Hodge

Warne these past few years has been dropping the odd sitter, did it once in both Ashes (well the drop catches I remember).
Cam White will be our next slipper hes highly rated, Clarke I would leave in the field as hes so dynamic from there. Ponting is wasted in the slips just too bad we can't find someone else to put in there.

Hodge is better from anything between silly point and cover area, he can dive to new zealand if needs be to catch a ball :p

He saved Cricket Australia a return airfare for the Chappell-Hadlee series.

Australia's biggest weakness in the field is the slips. 10 years ago Australia's slip corden consisted of Mark Taylor, Mark Waugh (two of the best slippers ever) and Shane Warne. But what now? Hayden, Ponting and who knows? Both are only decent slippers. On ground fielding I don't think you can put anyone ahead of Australia with Clarke, Symonds and Ponting (when he isn't being wasted at 2nd slip) they are 3 of the best around.

:D Englands worst area for a long time has seemed to be 3rd man :p very rare the ball loops up there but they always seemed to get dropped, or simple places like mid-on/off always seem to have a howler now and again
