Worst Job you ever had?

I won't comment on the actual post in the link, but I think you're missing the point of my argument if you think that has anything to do with this discussion.

^ Usman, I think Sid means this part,

The people who live in these slums are mostly those who earn their living the hard way. I have great respect for these people as they are doing that job which no one will do.

Massive difference between living in slums and cleaning toilets!!!!

What I make out of the part I quoted is that according to Sid, the slum dwellers are mostly those people who earn their living in a hard way. And Sid has great respects for these guys and others who do jobs which very few people would want to do, and understandably toilet cleaning is one of them.

My issue with his view is that he seems to think they enjoy it. While I don't claim to know what is going on in people's heads I would think most people would trade up from such a job if they could. The issue is that he seems to be confusing the fact that these people love working with their hands and earning money the honest way, with them enjoying cleaning toilets and such. My point is that whilst they don't mind doing it because its hard work they'd rather do something better if the chance and job security ever came up. Doesn't mean they enjoy it.

In India 80% of times you will find they are the ones who do these type of jobs. And by these type I mean all jobs which you and me will not want to do.

Now don't bend this sentence to suit yourself "jobs which you and me will not want to do".

Please. We don't need to poison another thread with this 'Indian slum' argument do we?

I once had to spend a short time in an old peoples home, cleaning the toilets, and bedrooms, not very nice at all, not as a job, but as a punishment from the courts, 120hrs community service, for a very small, drunken incident, on a night out, it was a joke really, watching it back on cctv footage.
So to anyone that has to do this for a living, respect.

^ yea you guys have CCTV covering all your cities eh? Thats a bit too Orwellian for me, but I am sure it will happen here soon enough

It wouldn't be anywhere near as obvious as CCTV though. But yeah we have cameras all around the stop lights where I live now.

Why would you have no chance? From my experience, people in main-stream stores know naff all about gaming.

Because people with a better CV(with previous jobs) will get it, than someone who has had none at all. Matt is only 15, like me. So I am just working my way up the ladder. I am going to get 6.91$ AU an hour. :laugh That's pretty poor.
