I was a huge fan of DBC 14 but was put off purchasing DBC 17 after negative feedback on this forum. After 5 patches is it worth picking up?

Is the batting better, with 360 degree shots and cover drives? I loved batting in 14.

Yes, Yes and Yes. :yes It has it's share of jagged edges(quite a few) but even then it's an absolutely beautiful Cricket game which you'll totally enjoy.

In terms of 360 shots, you can't play the late cut as well in this game, particularly to spinners, compared to DBC14 which had it spot on.

Just don't play with easy batting and bowling setup, and don't place a fielder at silly mid on! Also forget creating a player, wearing headband and turban while on field and while bowling!

..........And there you go, it's a fantastic game. :clap

....... And don't worry about fielding and Alice bands; me and Adam are not happy and, if you have dark brown hair you'll look ginger (ish).

Best cricket game. period. With the new patch it really sets it apart. Test matches could still use some tweaking with the batting AI etc, but limited overs is near perfect IMO.

I dunno about perfect but T20 and limited overs are both very good. The enjoyment factor makes up for any problems in both these cases.

If you primarily want to play casual matches then Yes. But if you want to purchase the game to play career mode then my answer would be No. Stats are all messed up in career mode making the mode unplayable as far as I'm concerned.

Where I'm from people still say Brian Lara on ps1 is the greatest cricket game of all time... it's because they haven't played Don Bradman Cricket 17 !!

If you want to play online against other players then no still their is glitch run outs and over throws galore. No way to track players stats.

I think worth is very relative. How much do you normally spend on entertainment? I can easily spend the $60 on a Saturday night out with the wife for 2 movie tickets and a dinner. Hey, sometimes it is even more than $60. That's for 4-5 hours of time at $12/hour.

If I buy the game instead, I get to play it and enjoy that. My wife gets to do her own things while I am playing and not bugging her. It's a win-win for us. I have over 30 hours in the game so far and it is only going to go up. That is $2/hour. I say it is totally worth it. I think I will end up around 60-90 hours before I really stop playing anymore.

It is your $60. Do what you want with it.
