WWE RAW WEEK ONE - LIVE!
Finally the new year for WWE has kicked off and were so excited here live in the 'Big Apple'. We can't wait to see what Mr.McMahon's announcments are and what will un-ravel tonight what are the matches and all theres so much to talk about...
Firstly were going to hear what Mr.McMahon has to say, this could well be a very historic night for the WWE and RAW as we all know Vince is capable of pulling anything out of the bag and may do so tonight, let's here what he has to say...
Mr.McMahon: So welcome everybody to another clean fresh start after WrestleMania.....As you all know this year is completly fresh not only the vacating of the titles but also fresh in the locker rooms.....Yes thats right, what I mean is getting rid of IDIOT's like Triple H......oh yeah you all thought you were going to see him in action after he had been running his mouth all week well it's not going to happen he's been banned and is in secure hands so he can't mess things up.
Secondly.....there is no secondly DAMMIT let's get on with the damn show I think you'll be happy with some of the matches I've put in place of tonight...
Well this match has started with some fire, and speed and all the rest. Both of these men are great entertainers, CM Punk had taken the upper hand whilst Carlito resorted to false and illegal tactics.
Later on in the match Carlito wasn't getting his way and had to resort to using the referee as a weapon, he did so but the ref walked into a sidekick which was to be for Carlito but thanks to Carlito's cheating the ref was out for the count. Punk then took advantage of this being an ex ECW star he made full use of the referee's absence so to speak. He went under the ring got a chair and nailed Carlito a few times.
The referee got back up Punk was on the pin but to everyones suprise Carlito kicked out, it was turning out to be a hard match, after a few more hard hits and chucks, Punk pulled out a unique new...finisher we suppose, almost like a headbuster driving Carlito's skull straight into the mat and picking up the win...
So CM Punk making a big impact here right on RAW, he definatly will be eyeing up some gold when it's settled but for now he can be more than happy with his win sure he used the absence of the referee to his advantage but that is in his nature using weapons and he is pretty hardcore from what we know all in all good dominance shown from this up and coming superstar!
This was a good match as soon as we were told about it (seconds after the first match) we knew this could be a nice big feud, or will it? Well we'll find that out next week...
For now lets talk you through the match, good professional match although non of these two men hit it off with the crowd it was a good clean showing, Marcus is an extremly strong human being and he dominated the match through, although there was a moment where Booker took the game to Marucs, he look to be on the back foot and the match was hanging in Bookers balance, however he couldn't make full use of it...
They continued to brawl with some powerful moves coming into the showing it was very hard to tell who would walk out the winner Booker and Marcus were exchanging move after move and kicking out pin after pin but none of them gave in, the determination of both men was great to watch.
After a long 20 minutes Booker nailed the 'Book End' only for Cor Von to get a foot on the ropes this is where Booker started to lose it, he couldn't possibly think of any other way to beat such a big guy, he then went for a second 'Book End' but Marcus Cor Von reversed it in a beautiful way and transformed the attempted 'Book End' into a face down russian leg-sweep finisher which sealed the deal for Cor Von!
Big task for Jeff Hardy here, he couldnt ask for a tougher opponant on his 'fresh' start, maybe he is one of the people on McMahons list of 'idiots' as he would say?
Anyway the match started of real bad for Hardy he was being bulldozed all over the ring, he then went out for a breather, and got his breath back together. After that we saw much more fight from Jeff Hardy he nearly shocked Umaga...judging by the look no his face. Hardy was going with the high-flying despite the risk one move and Umaga could counter it and turn the whole match around...
Umaga was gaining the upper hand once more but at times Jeff Hardy was way to quick for him. This was frustrating the Samoan Bulldozer, he then went for extreme mesures himself...
After knocked hardy down with a big kick to the chest he went up to the top turnbuckle himself and went to splash...all that happened was Hardy moved out of the way showing his speed leaving the Samoan Bulldozer in a heap on the floor, Hardy climbed up himself and delivered a clean Senton Bomb and pinned Umaga down for the 3 count...
Business was just picking up, what a night so far but now it was the first title up for grabs, it was the Intercontenental Championship match and the title was all to take.
Mr.Kennedy is a star in the making but so is Lashley it couldnt be a more even match, sure Lashley may seem to be the obvious victor of this match but anything could happen with a person like Kennedy around. The match started catiously none of the two men wanted to get beat down for the whole match so there was some technical stuff going on, eventually the match had to open up, hopefully sooner rather than later...
Lashley was quick on the offence and didn't give Kennedy much time to respond to his powerful attacks, however Kennedy was much the same as he took the game to Lashley, who definatly was suprised at the skill and determination Kennedy was showing to become champion.
Some really good moves were being exchanged between the two and it seemed like the most balanced match of the night although you wouldnt think it to be, the match started to pick up pace and both men were going for the big moves and pulling them off, untill Kennedy went for his new look awkward finisher which was then converted into the Dominator and that won Lashley the championship the first piece of vacated gold goes to the machine in Lashley and he deserves it fully, but we can safley say this isn't the end of it...
