Codemasters Community Liaison and forum member Rubbergenius has kindly agreed to try and answer your questions on Brian Lara International Cricket. If you want to post any questions about the game to him, please do so in this thread and he will try and answer them the best he can.

However due to other commitments related to the soon to be released Club Football series of games he might not have that much time to be on the forum and answer the questions but he has promised to try and answer them as and when, time permitting.

So if you want to know anything about the game, when we will find out more? Possible features? Teams? options? graphics? gameplay? - just post them here! Also if you have any suggestions perhaps Rubbergenius would be able to take a look at them and possibly pass them on to the development team.

my question
Will there be any graphics enhancement in the game ?
Wat abt its system requirements i suggest them to develop it in such manor that it requires more RAM and less Display memory.

My questions

Chasing a score:

1. When batting second, will it chase a score rather than have a preset CPU pacing?

2. When it loses quick wickets, will it try to slow down to preserve wickets ?

Fielding:

1. Instead of preset fielding position, will we be allowed to position the fielders anywhere (ofcourse within the rules)?

2. Will the fielding AI be better than Cricket 2004 (if it has an AI  )?

Classic matches:

1. Will there be classic matches?

2. If yes, can we create custom classic matches?

Testing:

1. How many months of independent testing will be done ?

2. Will Zimrahil get a testing position ? :) (I noticed him saying that he might have a chance)

My Questions:

1. Will proper authentic faces of the players be used in the game?
2. Will every player have the same lame stance like in previous games or will they vary depending on the player e.g. Chanderpaul's stance
3. Will the catches in this game actually LOOK REAL! instead of the ball landing miles away from the player but still magnetically going into his hand
4. Will an editor be included with the game?

Hi I am bumba, my questions are :

1. will there be any tour matches consisting of series of test matches & one dayers. Can we play as the host nation & can we select the venues for test & odis.

2. will there be rain in ODI's.

3. Will there be good crowd representation (No cardboard lifeless crowd please) and also will there be less crowd for test matches and ODIs between two minnow nations.

4. will there be less bugs.

5. If it rains in ODIs and test will the rain stop after a while & will there be any effect of the same on the wicket and outfield (In real cricket the outfied becomes sloggy)

6. How intelligent the A.I going to be.

My Questions:
1. Will there be a Player Editor where we can create ourselves, or any other player (or edit players in the game)
2. If there will be a Player Editor will the game keep stats for our created players like it did in Shane Warne Cricket '99 (Brian Lara Cricket '99)

3. Will It rain in ODI's?
4. If so, will the Duckworth Lewis system be in place?

5. Will the game include the minows (eg. Canada, USA, Holland, Kenya etc.)

6. What tournaments will be included in the game (eg. World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy, ICC Intercontinental Cup etc.)

Thanks

I just wanna ask what features you have in the game ???
and are u guyz goin to test the game before sellin it to the market??

Will matches finish quickly? e.g. can I complete a 50 over match(batting and bowling) in 2-3 hours.

I mean will there be a way that I can end a delivery and start another by the push of a button.

How difficult will it be to mod? (Kits etc, with any luck the AI won't need too much work :) )

Well...i think i might also put a few questions/comments myself.

1. Will there be Manual-Appealing option?

2. Different stance and different bowling actions for different players?

3. It will be a great idea to develop such a tech. so that there are no preset values which determine how the CPU plays, this tech. should change the approach of the cpu as the game progresses so that there is no repeatedness.

4. You know why cricket 2002/2004 are/were soooo booring...? I'll tell ya....coz there is/was no skill require to bowl a ball or play a shot. For bowling....press a button....set the marker and press the button twice. For batting....move the player...press the direction....and press the backfoot or frontfoot shot button. THATS IT....Level of skill requires?.....NONE. Instead a tech. similar to which was used in Cricket 2000 should be developed. In Cricket 2000, there was a bowling meter in which we had to press the button at the right time so that the abll lands acuurately and with desired swing/spin. For batting also there was a cone which required much more skill than just press the desired direction key. So for Brian Lara International Cricket....an update version of this kind of tech. should be used so that we enjoy our bowling and batting rather than sitting like a jack**s and just pressing those 2-3 button again and again and again.

5. Will there be different cinematics just like in FIFA and NBA games whenever the player gets a wicket or hits a century rather than the same old celebration move. I don't think there will be a copywrite problem with EA if CODEMASTER also added the cinematic feature into their game.

6. I think CODEMASTER should play the game themselves first (unlike EA SPORTS) so that they could look into those issues which are highly un-realistic, graphic glitches, bugs so that we get a finished and polishes game at our hands.

7. When will DEMO VERSION of the game available on the net?

And many of my questions have been asked by my friends in the above posts.

I hope my suggestions reach the Game Development Authority and that they do something about it.

Guidlines to Create A Superb Cricket Game

A superb cricket game could be this one (BLC), but to be a superb cricket game they need to listen t what the audience want. i dont know what everyone else thinks but here are just some of the enhancments that should take place in this game.

1. Graphics up to scratch like WCR (world championship rugby) ... the graphics in that game were excellent, they were very touched up and rounded unlike square shaped bodies etc.

2. The pitch and weather should have a bigger impact in matches ... the swing, spin , speed and bounce should vary alot.

3. Movies or shorts cinamatic features should take place when a wicket falls, half century, century, 5 wicket haul, hatrick. the top players (Brian Lara,Kallis,Flintoff,Ntini,Ponting etc) should be given short mive clips when they come into bowl or bat. when a tournamant is won there whould be a short movie (graphical or real) to show the team hold the trophy or celebrate.

4. The commentaters were not bad in cricket 2004. but they became very repetitive after a while. maybe more phrases or more commentators would have helped this matter. they should bring in west indian, south african, indian etc comentators to help with the realism.

5. The tournements in cricket 2004 were very well arranged. the world tours gave a whole new format to the game. With the new Brian Lara game, a similar aproach to the tournements and tours should be taken.

6. the catches, wickets, lbw's and sixes should be looked at. when a six is produced the comentators should get more excited and start raising there voice. the catches need to be more realistic. the lbw's should be more user friendly ( we press R2 to apeall etc). the wickets should have a better audio (when the ball hits the wickets, the player should hear a clear audio of the hit. the commentators should also get more excited and louder.)

7. the gameplay. the bowling must be approached in a better manner in this game. it should be more user friendly. you should be able to use more swing, spin, seam options. the bowling needs to became more detailed. the batting also needs some work (not as much as bowling). CPU should able to become more aggressive with its batting and bowling.

8. the AI should become more useful in this game. the CPU should become more aggresive, field changes according to game, change tightness of game according to the score and situation. the CPU should also take sneeky runs here and there.

9. When the situation of a game gets tight so should everything else. the commentaters should get tense and louder, the audience should get louder, the batsmen should lose some confidence, the bowlers should lose some confidence etc. this will create a whole new dynamic to the game.

10. finally i just want to clear up a few more things. ;)

.OFFICIAL teams, players, tournements, stadiums should be included (like cricket 2004)
.When a game is won there should be more celebration.
.The glitches and bugs should be fixed befor selling.
.Audience should be more detailed.
.Rain should effect games more often to give off a sence of realism. (a good day can turn into a bad day)
.Unlockable items like: stadiums, classic matches, all star teams, Create a player rewards (bats, clothes, shoes, sunglasses etc) should be given to make the game more enjoyable.

So thats it. im sure most people will agree with me that these guidlines would create a great cricket game. and lets all pray and hope that codemaster will develope a cricket game that we can play and be entertained for months.

:hpraise

my questions

1)after one team is winning the game there should be a presentation ceremony and the captain of winning team getting a trophy and the man of the match getting a prize.

2)and should show faces of the commentrators while the game is going on.

3)it should have manual appealing for lbws

4)it should have atleast 5 commentrators (because hearing the same voice is so boring)
