Am trying to understand how this Player of the Match works: Super Kings beat Daredevils, Dhoni get "player of the match", what did he do, scored 33 from 33 balls, with 3 fours. Morkel on the other hand scored 30 form 15 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes, bowled 4 overs for 35 and took 2 wickets, one of which was AB de Villiers for a "duck", first ball, I mean come on. He should be player of the match, or is this an Indian thing?? Just asking, no pun intended.

He has been overrated from the Start.
If Chennai would have lost today then Dhoni would have been one of the reason as He has given his wicket at wrong time where Albie has changed the match when He came to bat.
His 30 from 15 balls has put down require run rate for CCk.

Lets face it this thing is about pleasing the crowd, and there are only a few players that are liked as much as Dhoni. He was one of the highest paid players and they have to hype him up.

That's always the problem with Player of the Match ending up being more a popularity contest than an awrd based on contribution. Its not that big a deal but let's hope it isn't a permanent method of choosing players for such awards.

Man of the match should have gone to Morkel or to Vidyut who started it off...

Dhoni didn't do much with the bat and almost lost the game from a winning position.

As for people complaining about Chennai's team, don't forget that Chennai has one of the most professional staff (The India Cements group who field their own cricket team and know a thing or two about cricket) behind the scenes, not the high-profile Bollywood glamour stars or a demanding liquor baron.

Bangalore are the Royal Chumps as of now. They're worse than the Mumbai Champs in the ICL.

And Mumbai will replace Chennai.
Sachin is ready to join Mumbai.

Chennai will be in the top four.
