Who is the better batsman?
Jacques Kallis or Rahul Dravid?

I'd rather have Dravid. Kallis is obviously good, but he's a big fat bloke who is so boring to watch. I've also seen more personality in a bread roll than i've seen in Kallis.
You see more in Dravid?!
Now this is a tough one indeed. I'll do my thing first and filter out Bangladesh and Zimbabwe and make Dravid's stats exclusive to him batting in the middle order, as Kallis never opened:
Kallis averages 52.85
Dravid averages 59.25
Dravid has the clear, massive edge. Dravid scored far more runs at a better average in the 1990s, which was the tougher decade to bat on due to the pitches and better bowlers. Kallis has a mediocre record in England, Dravid in South Africa. Normally, Kallis' good record in New Zealand would pretty much cancel out the issue in England as an anomaly rather than an issue against seaming pitches - but further analysis shows that Kallis' runs in New Zealand have come in high scoring contests - whether this is due to flat pitches or poor bowling is irrelevant. All things considered, Dravid has the clear edge due to a better average and nothing which discounts this on the negative of Dravid or positive of Kallis.
In ODIs, Kallis has the edge with average and a similar strike rate and discounting minnows does nothing to change this - so Kallis is a better ODI batsman.

Lucky you weren't at the Sydney Test Match between Australia & India earlier this year, on day 2 when Dravid was batting.
The loudness of the 'BORING' chants were comparable to chants at a WWE arena.

Dravid's got charisma. I dunno what it is about him but he's just fantastic to watch. Kallis is justa big lump. A genius of a lump, but still a lump nevertheless.

You've got to admire the determination to bat through a period of awful form against some tough opposition and crowds.

That's probably what is that makes me like him so much. If he and Smith were English i'd be a very happy man, and England would be a very good team.

Tough call but Dravid for me. Although if he continues to play in the horrible form that he has been then he will be slipping in my opinion.

Dravid. He's regained his form, and he's simply majestic. He's been India's best batsman for years in tests, he isn't called Mr. Dependable for nothing. He's a legend.

Kallis by far. He's not the most exciting cricketer but hes gets the job done without a fuss.

I'd rather watch paint dry than watch Dravid bat, Boxing Day we saw an incredible innings that, at one stage, was about 3 off 50 balls. The 'If you're bored stand up' chant reverberated around the ground as everyone stood up. Besides that, I think Kallis has achieved more, he was the best batsman in the world at one stage, a mantle which I'm pretty sure Dravid has never held.
