Squad: Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Clarke, Nathan Bracken, Brad Haddin, Nathan Hauritz, Ben Hilfenhaus, James Hopes, Michael Hussey, David Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Peter Siddle, Andrew Symonds, David Warner, Shane Watson.
No real startling choice there, other than perhaps Lee. Watson will be expected to bowl, but they've been looking at both Lee and Watson bowl in the last couple of weeks and the staff would have a good idea how well both of them are doing.
I'm kinda gobsmacked though that Cameron White wasn't included

The selectors have bent over backwards to select him for every T20 fixture in the last couple of years. Looks like the honeymoon is over :banana2
Here's my XI from that squad:
1. Shane Watson
2. Ricky Ponting (c)
3. Michael Clarke
4. Andrew Symonds
5. Michael Hussey
6. Callum Ferguson/D.Hussey/Warner
7. Brad Haddin
8. Mitch Johnson
9. Brett Lee/Siddle/Hilfy
10. Nathan Hauritz
11. Nathan Bracken
Now the real side will have Haddin opening with Watson and everyone sliding down a spot, but I think Ricky Ponting would make a very good T20 opener. At #3 he's coming in when the bowlers have found their line and length, but at the top he can dictate to the bowlers and punish their early looseness, something he is so good at. Might help him get some large scores, and it would get our best batsman batting for as long as possible a la Sachin Tendulkar. Michael Clarke would be an excellent #3 if there is an early wicket, but I would skip over him if the openers bat for 5 or more overs and bring Haddin up to #3 instead to attack hard in the middle overs.
I'd like Brett Lee in the team, but if it's not happening for him I think Hilfenhaus could be quite good and Siddle's not bad, but a bit unproven in ODI/T20 cricket at this stage.
