Would like to phase Zak out of the T20s as well, age is getting up on him and we need him 100% fit for tests and ODIs, and he is an injury prone bowler. So I'd like to replace him with Prabeeen, but it isn't going to happen probably.

Arpy and Zak/Praveen with the new ball, Irfan will back them up nicely as he's done well so far in the IPL, Bhaj will restrict them and Ojha can have a whirl too. Viru/Yuvraj/Yusuf will man any extra overs that need to be bowled. We're looking good for a 2fer.

Overall on the squad I would've really picked Nayar ahead of Rohit Sharma. He has bucketloads of talent, is an allround option and shows a lot of maturity, he's the heart of the Mumbai batting order so far. A little worried about Dhoni too, his back is bothering him and is he has been open about his problems, we can't have him break down and be unfit for the bigger forms of the game. I would've liked a backup 'keeper in there, Karthik would've been a good option considering his form, although I would have been fine with even Naman Ojha, Wridhi Saha or Robin Uthappa.

Dude, once again, it's Pragyan, not Praghyan.

Atleast Uthappa could have been picked to have a backup for Dhoni. Hope he doesnt break down in the middle thereby making us call up a wicketkeeper from India in the middle of the tournament.

I can already tell you that one of the biggest games of the tournament isn't even part of the main event, that is, Pakistan vs India on July 3rd. Can't believe its a warm-up game, but it will be a cracking game, and really a spectacle to watch :banana2

Does India really need a practice game after the IPL?

Players with best T20 career records

Players who are Shaun Tait
Shaun Tait: Surely the most glaring omission. Was all set to make a return from injury with Rajasthan when Cricket Australia announced that he was not fit. Frustrated as you would be, one might take consolation in the knowledge that Cricket Australia actually need you fit. Alas no, they do not need you. Perhaps they just thought it would be funny.

The Question Marks
Nathan Hauritz: will make his T20I debut in the UAE on Thursday. Has fended off competition to become Australia's preferred spinner and has effectively won a freebie selection as a result. Boasts an economical T20 record, but may need to prove more threatening.

Peter Siddle: Another player with limited experience, but El Sid has impressed at every opportunity. On pedigree, is well worth the punt. The question is really over fitness, is his foot ready for a 4 month tour?

Brad Haddin: Possesses a terrible T20 record, but at least we know he can hit the ball. He needs to put in career best stuff, but if he starts firing, that won't be a problem. If he doesn't, there may not be any better options, anyway.

Brett Lee: One of the most senior players in the team and yet the one who offers the least answers. Even if he has reached full fitness, does he still have the zip? Even if he has the zip, is he any good at T20s? Definitely in his favour are that he can bat and English conditions might swing for him. Beyond that, who knows? We might not even get to know. The squad is heavy with bowlers and each one is in contention for a spot on the ensuing tour of England. Lee's presence serves more than one purpose.

Michael Clarke: It is surely make or break for Michael Clarke, lest he become the Mike Brearley of T20s. He is named VC and yet he is surely the one most droppable batsman in the team. If he does not work out how to play, it could be catastrophic. Plus, he doesn't just owe it to himself or to Australia, he owes it to Brad Hodge to get it right.

Seriously, who cares?

I do.

I'm picky about little things (no, not like that) and when it keeps happening over and over again it gets annoying. It's really not that hard.

Anyways, I think South Africa will win this year. RVDM ftw!

No harm in a warm-up. It will be really interesting to see India vs Pakistan again in a T20. I feel Pakistan's best chance of beating India is in the T20 format (in the other formats, we are overwhelming favorites going by Pakistan's current test and ODI teams).

All eyes will be on Misbah. He has been engrained in Indo-Pak T20 folklore with those two horrendous shots. Will he claim revenge?

That is because Pakistan havn't managed to play very many test matches againt good test teams for long, including india themselve.
