I'm so confused by this England selection.
  • "Stokesy has made number five his own, and is in career-best form. Let's move him from there."
  • "Rooty hates batting at three and does best at four. Let's move him to three."
  • "Jos has done shit-all and averages about 20 for the last year and a half. Let's promote him to six"
  • "We've just given Zak our backing and ended Denly's Test career to make room for him. Let's drop him after one bad Test."
  • "Mark Wood averages 18 with the ball since fixing his runup, let's leave him out."
They may still manage to win the Test because the West Indies' batting is a genuine problem and they've not made any changes to that department, but that doesn't make these decisions right.

Speaking of wrong decisions: Shannon Gabriel for a third back-to-back Test when he could barely move in the second Test

And then people called me out for calling Root a poor Captain while supporting Kohli as Captain. :rolleyes

These are all ridiculous decisions and yet no voice being raised from the Captain and also his batting hasn't been all good due to the Captaincy itself. :spy

I have some things in common with my mate Cornwall: apart from my lacking his skill, height, strength, class, will and determination to rise to the top, my abs look a lot like his.

I saw Cornwall in the West Indies vs India 2nd Test match in Jamaica last year. He does bowl quick (I think around 58-65 mph) and gets good bounce. He doesn't spin the ball much though.

He is getting some turn here though already

Maybe he developed that over the time. Previously he looked to rely on bounce to get the batsmen out. If he is spinning the ball then it's a worry for any batsman. Those big arms with big fingers gripping the ball and turning it. He could get more turn than others. He has the advantage in here.

Thing with Cornwall is he adapts to the match situation and conditions. On an Indian track, he'll try and bowl like Jadeja; on an English pitch that doesn't work so well so he's taken a different approach of trying to make use of the slower turn on offer

Just looking at Joes average: people complain that he is declining after his captaincy: he still has a 54.4 average peeps! That isn't bad is it?
