I've given up on the Sobers at number three dream, because I'm going to shuffle him down to number five. My reasoning is simple: Wally Hammond averaged 74.78 in that position with 14 centuries in 52 innings. I was originally planning to skip straight to someone different, largely because I expected somebody to pick Hammond before me. Most hilariously, he has 83 Test and 649 other first-class wickets, and we very probably won't ever ask him to turn his arm over.
