Start Date & Deadlines
- Any bids made before the official start were considered invalid
- It is not mandatory to bid in every round, if you wish to pull out of a particular round, please say so. It will save us some time.
- If you wish to not increase any of your bids on one or multiple players and end your round, please say you're backing out, that will also save us some time.
- 2023 IODC Player Auction will commence from Wednesday, 19th of April at 5:30 PM IST / 12:00 PM GMT
General Rules
- Each franchise will be given a salary purse of ₹100 crore (INR) to spend at the auction.
- However, all teams will be deducted retention fees from their ₹100c salary purse for player retentions.
- Each team is required to have 18 players in their main squad after the completion of the auction, a maximum of 7 of which can be overseas players.
- Since there will be injuries, a team can sign up to 5 players as injury reserves. It is not mandatory, but teams could if they so wish to.
Injury reserves can be temporarily substituted into the main squad upon all kinds of player unavailabilities. ** Injury reserves may only be bid on when all teams have completed their main 18-player squads.
- If you blow your budget and are unable to bid the base price of the lowest category player (₹20 lacs) to complete your squad, your bid(s) will be rejected. * Deletion or alteration of bids will result in a ₹10 lac penalty for first offense, ₹50 lac penalty for second offense and ₹1 crore + ejection from that round for third offense.

Bidding Rules
- Bidding Rounds will occur in 12 Pools. Each pool will consist of 10 players and any franchise can bet on up to 6 players from a single round.
- However, teams may not bid on more players than required to complete their main squad
- Teams may also only bid on as many overseas players as they are allowed in foreign player pools
- Bidding increments can only happen in multiples of ₹10 lacs; jumping is allowed
₹10 lacs is one decimal to a crore: ₹1.1 crore is an acceptable bid but ₹1.01 crore is not.
- A player is sold if a) all teams except the leading bidder back out, or b) 24 hours have passed since the leading (last) bid
Picking Unregistered Players
- Local Pools largely consist of players from Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022/23, Indian Premier League 2023 and currently active ODI (capped) players for India.
- International Pools largely consist of popular franchise players, International ODI mainstays and players from ICC's ODI Rankings.
- If you wish to choose a player not in any of the Pools (say, Umar Akmal), let me know privately.
- If no one else wants your selected player, you can have them at the end of the auction at their base price unchallenged.
- If there are clashes, those players can be individually bid upon between those managers at the end of the auction.
- If there are more glaring omissions (say, AB de Villiers if he were still active) then let me know, I will readjust the pools.
Player Pools & Base Prices
- Capped player (Indian or foreign) - ₹1 crore
- Uncapped player (Indian or foreign) - ₹50 lacs
- Youth/U19 player (Indian or foreign) - ₹20 lacs
- General player rules also applicable (no retired cricketers unless they play List-A or First Class cricket, and no T20-only cricketers).
