Sunrisers Hyderabad need to find a big knock, because just as it seems as if someone's gonna go big... they get dismissed. Mumbai Indians are all over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Rohit Sharma's men seem to have a strong chokehold over Sunrisers Hyderabad which does not seem to be loosening. Rishabh Pant needs to break free from the shackles.

      Fifty for Rishabh Pant

igFvjcR.png

Rishabh Pant reaches fifty... a very conservative knock by his standards, but one that was demanded from him by the situation of the game. He reaches 50 off 51 deliveries.
His fifty and his partnership with Punit Bisht has somewhat stabilized the innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Rohit Sharma needs to get a move on and he needs to do it quick.

Mumbai Indians have bowled exceptionally well to keep Sunrisers Hyderabad's total beneath the 300-run mark. Excellent death-bowling tactics lead to a lackluster finish.

Sunrisers Hyderabad amount a highly competitive total for a final, but they will still feel a little underachieved given how lackluster the last 10 overs of their innings were.
Rishabh Pant's near run-a-ball 89 headlined an innings that had a lot of starts and stops for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Batters were dismissed right before they could get going.

Sunrisers Hyderabad's top-four - all found starts but met untimely dismissals as well. It was on Rishabh Pant to drag Sunrisers Hyderabad to a competitive total in the end.
And drag them he did - his 90-ball 89 was the backbone of Sunrisers Hyderabad's innings. If it weren't for a skipper's knock from him, they would've been in a terrible spot.

Saqib Mahmood and Mayank Markande picked-up 2 wickets each, providing timely breakthroughs that jolted Sunrisers Hyderabad's progress and destabilized their innings.
But it was Kieron Pollard who had the biggest impact with the ball. He picked-up 3 crucial wickets, including the timely scalps of KL Rahul and the well-set Rishabh Pant.

Fifty up between Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard. A fine stand, but both batters need to get a move on, the required run rate is climbing up and they need a few big hits.
Sunrisers Hyderabad on the other hand, are desperate for a breakthrough. There isn't any other option for them, they have to bowl Mumbai Indians out if they want to win.

Kieron Pollard reaches fifty. A sedated knock, especially by his standards, but one that was necessitated. However, now would be a pretty good time for him to explode.
Last 7.0 overs have amounted to absolutely nothing. Only two fours were scored, both in the previous over. Ishan Kishan's wicket really put the breaks on Mumbai Indians.

Enthralling final, decided on the last ball of the final over with a tense run out. A perfect end to a perfect season as Sunrisers Hyderabad win The Amarnath-Kardar Trophy.
Mumbai Indians are going to feel an immense heartbreak - they fall short of their maiden 50-over title by just one run. Even a single would've meant a tie for Mumbai Indians.

And who knows how the Super Over would've played out if that were to happen, but alas! Mumbai Indians suffer a heartbreak and Sunrisers Hyderabad experience ecstasy.
Rohit Sharma will be mighty disappointed as a captain and a leader, but his individual brilliance should not be overshadowed by a deflating result in the final of a tournament.

Rohit Sharma finished as the leading run-scorer with 431 runs @ 61.57. His 234* will forever live in infamy as the first-ever double-ton in Amarnath-Kardar Trophy's history.
Another feather in the cap for Mumbai Indians would be their pace spearhead - Saqib Mahmood finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 17 scalps in 9 innings @ 25.41.

But as far as the title of the championship goes - they miss out on that by an agonizing margin of 1 run. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, this 1 run indicates a successful season.
They lift the 2021/22 Amarnath-Kardar Trophy under Rishabh Pant, who himself played an innings of a lifetime in the final and earned himself the Man of the Match award.

Congrats Hyderabad! :thumbs

Not too sure how I could express my disappointment. Well it was one of those days where the opposition edges past you. Surely there were moments in the match where we could've capitalised on but we just let them take the game away from us at crucial junctures in the match.

I think this was a great learning for us and we had a lot of positives coming out of this. Unfortunately we couldn't win it for Ross Taylor. Also we would continue to back our players who have come up with some crucial contributions at important stages in the tournament. Bitter Sweet but I'll take this one! :)

Quetta's original captain :clap
He maybe Quetta's Captain but deep down we all know his emotions are with Mumbai :p

Btw not many people know about this but Rohit belongs to Andhra Pradesh region and his mother tongue is Telugu as opposed to Marathi. The relevance is that Hyderabad was part of Andhra Pradesh few years ago. So he won something atleast. :D

that last over was not just brilliant, beyond it can't express the word

finally winning a league, after nearly 5-6 (was inactive half the time :p)

brilliant effort from the boys, despite losing our key bowler, the way two replacements performed, they surely have filled the gaps

Two Playoff games and two important knocks from the skipper, brilliant stuff

Tough luck @NILAYSHAH60 bhai, it's always disappointing sometimes depressing losing a finale after performing soo good

thanks for hosting the league @Na Maloom Afraad bhai, looking forward for new leagues

Iyer! Iyer! Iyer!
What an over from Iyer. Immense precision.
Thanks to @TSPrathik for leading the team to glory and letting me coast along.
Thanks @Na Maloom Afraad

We did it bhai :cheers
from a bad first season to disastrous start for second season and finishing in top 4 at the end, then top 2 here and winning the trophy, big journey
hopefully we'll try retaining our core and get back the remaining

Quetta's original captain :clap

Close matchup. Sunrisers the better team on the day - Congrats @TSPrathik and @Till Valhalla :cheers
Thanks bhai
