The Super Cup

Ok NMA, my heart is going to pump it's way out of me if you are gonna post like this!

We have got early wickets we were after but have also leaked a bit too many runs. But if we get like 2 more wickets quickly then we can surely get them on the backfoot. I have faith in this bowling unit. Let's do this!

Oh dear, oh dear! Lahore Qalandars wrap up Rajasthan Royals' tail in the space of 9 deliveries and all Ravindra Jadeja can do is watch the destruction from the non-striker's end. Presumably, Rajasthan's former captain was waiting for the death-overs before unleashing an all-out assault to push his team to a formidable total. Little did he know, he would run out of partners at the other end, in an over-and-a-half.

An underwhelming total from Rajasthan Royals, very reminiscent of their Champions League final debacle. Rajasthan Royals were backed into a corner early on with Faheem Ashraf picking-up a wicket each in his first two overs, reducing Rajasthan to 14 for 2. David Warner stepped-up and top-scored with a dominant 87, which came off of just 90 deliveries. His knock formed the backbone of Rajasthan's innings, which was sorely needed given their start. Suryakumar Yadav started off well, but an untimely dismissal undermined his hard graft. Rajasthan continued to slump further down due to a constant fall of wickets, which was temporarily brought to a halt by Ankit Bawne's watchful knock, only for it to be undone by a collapse towards the end. Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 25 as he saw his team's last 5 wickets fall for 10 runs in 19 deliveries. A tragic collapse which compromised Rajasthan's grip on the game, perhaps irreversibly.

Faheem Ashraf and Mitchell Starc shared 5 wickets between themselves, a massive positive for Lahore Qalandars given how disappointing their new ball antics had been in the previous two games. Haris Rauf finished wicketless which came as a massive shock, considering he had been the leading-wicket taker in The Super Cup coming into this game. Usman Qadir and Shahnawaz Dahani impressed once more with two scalps apiece, further proving their case of being massively underutilized by Pakistan's national side as permanent benchwarmers.

Led by the domineering fast-bowling duo of Shaheen Afridi and Kagiso Rabada, Rajasthan Royals reached the aforementioned Champions League final only for it to be stunk up by their batters against arguably the greatest side ever assembled on-paper, i.e. Sydney Roosters. They've won two Indian One-Day Championship titles in as many attempts, solely via the strength of their bowling. It would be downright unholy to rule them out of this contest despite their batters only mustering up what they've mustered up. Lahore Qalandars on the other hand, will be fancying their chances of winning The Super Cup greatly, and finally beating Rajasthan Royals for the first time after a third attempt. Can Lahore make history, or will Rajasthan repeat theirs?

Kane Williamson had no answer to that! Kagiso Rabada strikes to remove Lahore Qalandars' captain after a promising start. This has been a very forgetful series for Kane Williamson, and if Lahore fall short of the chase in the final, he'll be wishing he isn't able to remember it, at all.

Three boundaries and a couple of singles amount to 14 runs coming off of Rajasthan's best bowler in the final, Ravindra Jadeja's 8th-over. Ben Stokes and Faheem Ashraf have not let Azam Khan's dismissal faze them and derail Lahore's chase. Lahore Qalandars are only 30 runs away from The Super Cup.

Absolute agony for Shaheen Afridi's Rajasthan Royals who fall disappointingly short in the grand finale, once again because of their batters stinking up the joint. Rajasthan Royals were able to pick up wickets early in the chase, but they weren't able to keep their economy in check. Runs flew early but cheap inroads meant Rajasthan were well within their right to think they stood a chance, but because of what they mustered up with the bat, Lahore only needed one partnership or one solid knock to ruin Rajasthan's ambitions. And that's exactly what Ben Stokes delivered. A match-winning fifty, which coincided with two game-changing partnerships pretty much spelt the end for Rajasthan Royals.

Man of the match: Ben Stokes (Lahore Qalandars)

Ben Stokes is adjudged the Player of the Series with scores of 62 (56), 64 (66) and 61* (65) in three games. Nothing less than fifty in each game he played, which, alongside a Man of the Match in the finale rightfully earns him this award. He was also the highest-scorer for any team in The Super Cup.

Qalandars are winning trophies? So, in other words, you mean the sky is blue.

Wonderful work NMA on conducting another great league and of course both the LQ managers, and an extra thank you to @ahmedleo414 for remembering me :cheers

This time Kane was on the right side of a Stokes chase. Our lower and middle order has stood up throughout the tournament, as have the bowlers.
Well played nonetheless, RR.
Thank you @ahmedleo414 for letting me co-manage LQ. But i will be back with Islamabad next season to defeat you and @AsadRM :winky:
