But his FC stats aren’t bad for a 3rd/4th seamer and handy number 8 batter Also is one of the best allround fielders England have ever produced, with him and Collingwood on the pitch no edge, high ball or quick single etc is safe for the batters.

My first pick is Ed Smith. One of those unfortunate ones who only got to play a few Test matches. The opener has over 12,000 runs at 41.79. Very decent FC record considering all things.

Second pick is Samit Patel. Another one who didn't got a lot of chances. Nonetheless a solid all rounder who bats in the middle order. He is a proper county legend with over 12,000 runs and over 350 wickets. I think him and Bopara together provide that balance in the middle order and are capable bowlers as well.

A seasoned county championship pro with only one test match to his name and no potential for anyone more. He’s used in county championship as more of a batter (more top order tho) which will be his role here as well as a solid ish middle order batter but he does have 4 test wickets at an average of 20 with the ball with his leggies so can do a job if called upon on.
