well really good win
but not to forget SA who put Aussie in the nail-bitting mode.
They lost just in last over.
great match same as the great story
m loving it !
i cant believe the cpu batted as well as it did only to throw it all away. i hope everyone is enjoying reading this story because i can honestly say that this is amazing fun.
"We had the perfect chance to even this series up and we let it slipped. To be honest i dont think i have ever been so deflated before. Two heartbreaking losses in a row is tough to bare.
We didnt bowl well but we managed to bat ourselves into a position where we could have won this match. If we were able to take our opportunities we could be 2-0 up in this series instead of the other way around."
Graeme Smith
(South African Captain)
"I cant believe it. I thought we were all over them after Gilly smashed a great 160 odd but I guess this shows that you can never write off a great team. Full credit to Graeme and his boys for a great fight but im just over the moon that we are able to claim the series. Full credit to Gilly and Clarkey, they deserve all the acclaim they get."
Ricky Ponting
(Australian Captian)
"It feels great to get back in the runs with the colours. To be honest i thought Clarkey would have been in line for man of the match but im stoked to be given the award in one of the most memorable games played recently. This series has been a joy to play in and its so exciting to be making runs like we are."
The Indian cricket team has arrived in Sydney today ahead of the 3 test match series and triangular series with Pakistan and Australia. The side, lead by Rahul Dravid and coached by Greg Chappell, came in under intense media spotlight as the series builds in to one of the most egerly awaited since the ashes.
The squad, which comprises greats including Sachin Tendulkar, Virdender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, V.V.S Laxman, Anil Kumble and Harbajan Singh, the squad looks strong enough to challenge the world champions on their home soil.
The team appeared confident ahead of their tour:
"Last time we had some great success against Australia when we drew the series and retained the trophy. Unfortunatly we were missing some important players in the last series at home but im sure that with Sachin back im sure we can take back the Border/Gavaskar trophy."
Rahul Dravid
(Indian Captain)
"Its great to be back in Australia, its a place that is very dear to me and what would make it even sweeter is if we can leave with the test and one day trophy. I feel very confident that we have the team to beat Australia here. It will be tough but I think we can do it"
Greg Chappell
(Indian Captain)
"I love Australia. I have always been received very well by the Australian fans and its a joy to play in front of them. Hopefully we can reclaim the trophy. Last time we were here i made 200 as Steve Waugh said goodbye, hopefully i can continue my form on Australian soil."
