The Pressure Increases - South Africa 5/308 - 22 To win

The pressure is reaching breaking point as the series comes down to the wire with South Africa needing 22 runs to win from only 2 overs to defeat Australia in the 2nd ODI at Johannesburg.

With Brett Lee, Andrew Symonds and Shane Watson allready having bowled their full compliment of overs, it will be down to Glenn Mcgrath and Michael Clarke to do the job for Australia. It appears Clarke will bowl the final over.

McGrath Captures His First - South Africa 6/308

Glenn McGrath placed his name on the scoresheet as he took his first wicket with the 2nd ball of the 48th over when he dismissed Ashwell Prince to leave South Africa at 6/308.

Prince was caught at deep mid wicket attempting to launch the big paceman, only to be snatched 5 meters in from the rope by Andrew Symonds.

McGrath Snares Pollock Without Score - South Africa 7/316

Glenn McGrath potentially took one of the most important wickets of the match when he dismissed vice captain Shaun Pollock without scoring as South Africa slumped to be 7/316.

Pollock attempted to flick McGrath off his legs but could only manage a top edge which popped up to Michael Hussey at square leg, putting Australia in a strong position with only the tail to go.

This match could go either way.

FINAL OVER BEGINS
SOUTH AFRICA 7/322 - REQUIRE 8 RUNS TO WIN

With all the bowlers having bowled their 10 overs and Jason Gillespie having been ruled out with an ankle injury earlier in the day. Part time left arm spinner Michael Clarke has been chosen to bowl the final over of what has been a truely remarkable game.

BALL 1
Boucher Holes Out - South Africa 8/322

Mark Boucher put South Africas hopes of victory in serious jeopardy as he holed out to deep mid on to the bowling of Michael Clarke on 6 as he left the tail with the huge job of salvaging victory in the 2nd ODI.

Clarke nailed his 4th wicket as he beat boucher in flight, as the wicketkeeper skied the ball down to Damien Martyn at long on. Makhaya Ntini and Nicky Boje now have 8 runs to get in 5 balls.

Ball 2
Clarke Dots Up Ntini - South Africa 8/322

Michael Clarke took one more valuable ball away from Makhaya Ntini and the South African run chase as the tailender looked to flick Clarke to fine leg but could only manage to be wrapped on the pads.

The ball was way outside leg stump so there was no appeal from the Australians, however Ricky Ponting and his men will take as many dot balls as possible.

Close is not the exact word. Nerve wrecking close may be apt! Come on Ntini! Show us one of your Boom Boom shots!

BALL 3
Clarke Snaps Up Ntini - South Africa 9/322

Michael Clarke claimed his 5th wicket of the match as Makhaya Ntini went down slogging attempting to reel in the 8 runs needed from the remaining 4 balls.

Ntini, like Mark Boucher, was caught at deep mid on attempting to catch up with the balls remaining and put his side within reach of victory.

BALL 4
Clarke Snares Victory - South Africa 10/322

Australia snatched victory from within the reaches of South Africa to seel one of the most memorable series in history as Australia went 2-0 up in the best of 3 series.

Andre Nel was caught on the fence by Andrew Symonds off the bowling of Clarke (his 6th for the match) as the home side lost their last 3 wickets without scoring and left Nicky Boje up the other end looking on as a win slipped through their fingers.

It was a game of memorable moments, Adam Gilchrist hammered 166, Graeme Smith replied in turn scoring 128 at better than a run a ball, and Michael Clarke brought home the victory with 6/43 off 7.4 overs.
