Nope,if you look at the Cricket 2004 Forum Moderators List,Ravi is in there.

And what I am saying is,go to the Cricket 2004 Forum, and you will see "Crick4life" in the mod list.

Or maybe he has to be a mod of this particular forum, and the only mod for this forum,is m_vaughan.

New Zealand fight back with 2 quick wickets

New Zealand fought back just before the first drink break here in Auckland by getting the Australian captain Allan Border out in the 15th over. Watson bowled an excellent ball that pitched just outside off stump and swing in. Border looking to cover drive on the back foot missed the line of the ball and was bowled. M.Waugh now has joined the aggressive looking Tom Moody after the fall of the 4th Australian wicket for 92.

Earlier New Zealand in a suprising move opened with Dipak Patel the off spinner from one end. Although Dipak Patel did not get too many wickets he bowled tight line against the rampaging G.Marsh.

D.Boon was out of a no ball when he skied a catch to covers but ran out of luck again when a beautiful slower one from C.Cairns deceived Boon in the same over and Boon ended up edging straight to Rutherford at point.

Dipak Patel then got Dean Jones when Jones played an unnecessary aerial shot that ended up in a comfortable catch to J.Wright at mid on. Allan Border then joined the aggressive G.Marsh and started to set things right for Australia. While Marsh took on the Kiwi bowlers, Border played the second fiddle by defending the good ones and occasionally picking fours when a bad ball was presented.

Watson brought in place of the expensive Cairns struck in the 13th over by bowling a quicker one that suprised Marsh who ended his excellent aggressive inning by hitting one straight to point for Rutherford to complete his second catch comfortably.

Watson then got Border with an excellent inswinger and now Australia looks in a bit of a trouble although they are still favorites to win the game.

Boony doesn't look too disappointed to get out for a duck. Mind you, the choice between staying in the middle or a few beers in the changing room isn't a tough one for him to make...

Yes Mark Waugh played in the world cup and he is the OZ saviour at the moment. M.Waugh is the last man standing and looks like the one to take Australia to a win if at all. New Zealand haven't been giving up yet and are getting struck into it.

Although the aggressive field set up has given away few runs it has ended in contributing few wickets too in this game. Personally I have been bowling my heart out and am please with the way good balls get wickets. An excellent yorker from Latham bowled just outside the off stump got Tom Moody having a go at it and edging it to gully. If New Zealand though Moody and M.Waugh was closing the game for New Zealand a good change in bowling brought another wicket. A quicker one from Dipak Patel bowled S.Waugh for just 2 and now Australia are 172/6 needing another 19 runs to win with 4 wickets in hand.

With this patch mostly the last 4 wickets are good enough to contribute some 30-40 runs but if I bowl well a victory to NZ is not ruled out at this stage.

So far only one wicket has been a gift otherwise all other wickets have been got to deliveries with change of pace, swing and a quicker delivery. Reverse swing is playing a big part here in confusing the CPU (Don't know if you guys know what I mean by reverse swing). Whenever I have been able to push the swing pointer from one end to the other mid way through the delivery and have bowled that perfect ball in terms of pace (pressing the speed button just before it is called a no ball) have got me wickets. With !xspeed it is damn hard to do that consistently and also some excellent slower ones have got me wickets too.

Now for the rest of the game.

The world up kits, I wanted to make but am a **** poor at making kits. If anyone is willing to make me 10 kits I would be damn happy to play with it. Infact the kits require minimal work for someone good at it. There are three stripes on the shoulders and country name on the kits. Otherwise there are no graphics on it whatsoever.

The following is a sample of the kit.

Australia win their opener amid little worries

Although there were few hicups in their chase Australia will be more than happy with the way they chased the little target. Despite losing wickets they were aggressive in their batting and took the battle to New Zealand. New Zealand although never seemed to be in the game after being 26/6 will have been more than happy to have competed and even having had a sniff of a chance of win. New Zealand bowlers did their best to get 6 wickets and also looked like they could strike the last four wickets too but for the cool M.Waugh and an unruffled I.Healy.

Both New Zealand and Australia's strength seems to be their long tail that could stand up to any attack despite losing early wickets. New Zealand top order will need to perform better in the up coming games for sure. Australia had the better of the bowling conditions but the opening bowlers McDermott and Bruce Reid look in absolutely stunning form. Most teams would have come a cropper against the kind of bowling in the morning and it is a credit to New Zealand's fighting attitude they scored a decent total that could be defended.

Twice I have lost to CPU in a row now but with a fight and having made both a close enough games. Both the times I set the target, I guess it is time ripe enough to chase in one.

Clash of minnows

The next game in line is between the minnows (Srilanka were no big team then and neither was Zimbabwe any better). The teams for the next ODI to be played in North Wellington (played at North Wellington, The Westpactrust stadium only came into existance in 1999 as the New Plymouth doesn't exist in the game).

The original game produced huge scores with Zimbabwe scoring 312 runs in 50 overs and Sri Lanka ending up winning the game by scoring 313 runs in 48 overs

I will be playing as Zimbabwe and will be chasing as well. Hopefully I will be able to register my first win. This is being played on a dry pitch, wonder what kind of score will this game produce.

The teams/players for this game are :

Zimbabwe : A Flower, WR James, AJ Pycroft, DL Houghton, KJ Arnott, AC Waller, IP Butchart, EA Brandes, KG Duers, MP Jarvis, AJ Traicos.

Sri Lanka : RS Mahanama, MAR Samarasekera, PA de Silva, AP Gurusinha, A Ranatunga, ST Jayasuriya, HP Tillakaratne, RS Kalpage, CPH Ramanayake, KIW Wijegunawardene, GP Wickramasinghe.

All these games are being played with the latest statistics so Sri Lanka are going with 6 terrific batters while Zimbabwe go with only 1 star player in A.Flower.

What do you want as the poll options? (otherwise I can just add you as a moderator for this forum while the tournament is on).

Really original idea btw playing a '92 World Cup. I'd be happy to make some kits when my exams are over in another 10 days.

Cheers Colin, that was wonderful gesture from you to offer to make the kits at a later date :clap I can live with it for now no problem and whenever you may have time you could do these kits really. All it needs is to add those three stripes and the country name on the kits. Only England's colour is slightly lighter blue otherwise the colours for all other country kits stay the same.

All I want is a poll with all the contesting countries and be able to choose the 4 teams that will make the semi finals at the moment. Don't mind either really either add me as a mod for this forum or just create a poll in this topic.

Sri Lanka score 245/3 off 50 overs batting first

24450281.jpg

Thanks to the solid batting by Mahanama, Samarasekara, Aravinda DeSilva and a bliztering 30 off only 12 by Ranatunga Sri Lanka ended up scoring a challenging 245 off thier 50 overs.

ranatunga300.jpg

On a pitch where the ball is keeping low and is slow it will be a challening target indeed for cup minnows Zimbabwe. Earlier Mahanama scored a solid hundred in off 161 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes to take Sri Lanka to a challenging target. Captain Aravinda DeSilva just fell short of an excellent 50 by just one run when he was out for 49 off only 56 balls. Ranatunga entertained the partisan crowd by a quick fire 30 off only 12 balls including 6 fours and a six.

Sri Lanka's inning was autoplayed and I will be batting for Zimbabwe.
