2008 European Championships Qualifying

I couldn't care less about Scotland going out, I've had enough of their rivalry with us and wanting us to fail at everything and cheering on our opposition or yesterday, wanting Russia to win. That is the majority of Scottish people I know and all of them on another forum.

England have a great chance now, we do deserve to be in Euro 2008, we are one of the best sides in the world, we just expect too much from them. Two top 8 finishes in the last two World Cups should prove that.

Yep, I got even more pissed with Scotland after Mr Murray their tennis 'sensation' said he was supporting whoever played against England in the World Cup. If we get through on Wednesday, I'm going to wind them up something rotten on Sky Sports text!

Well done Italy!!

Steve McClarens a fantastic manager :D

M'lord, surely you jest?

Possible developments on the final (21 November 2007) matchday:

England will qualify if:
England defeat or draw with Croatia, or
Russia lose to or draw with Andorra
Russia will qualify if:
Russia defeat Andorra and England lose to Croatia

what if both Russia and England win their matches

If England win by 2 goals, we would come top.
If England draw and Russia don't beat Andorra by at least 9 goals, we would come 2nd.
If England draw and Russia beat Andorra by 9 goals then England would not qualify.

Don't think that's right. If two teams finish on level points it's results between the countries that split them initially, not goal difference. So if we draw with Croatia we're through regardless of how many Russia dick Andorra by, as we beat them 3-0 at Wembley and only lost 2-1 over there.

Similarly with Croatia, if we win 2-0 we would finish top because we'd match their win over us so goal diff would come into play and ours would be superior, but if we won, say 3-1 or 4-2, Croatia would top the group because of their away goals.

We won't beat Croatia. Everyone seems to think it's a given.

That's the hilarious thing. It was mission impossible before Russia lost and now everyone thinks England are through already. I will laugh my penis and each testicle off if England now get beat by Croatia.

Realistically though, it's in England's best interests if Croatia win. That way the ginner gets sacked, Mourinho gets hired, the next World Cup gets brought home.

It'll probs be a boring 0-0 or 1-1 draw. England will go 4-5-1 meaning our midfield will stifle them but we'll have little up front (or not, seeing as we have Crouch).

I reckon we'll win, we're a different side at home. Anyone got tickets to go see it? I was going to get some, but changed my mind, that was about two months ago and now they're sold out! Damn it!

I'm bricking it, frankly, but it did look like Croatia were a wee bit half-arsed against Macedonia once they knew they'd qualified so think we should at least get the draw we need.

With regards to McClaren, we shouldn't need our non-qualification to demand his removal. He's obviously not up to the job. Everything about him screams mediocrity, from his ridiculous blow-dried would-be quiff that utterly fails to hide his bald spot (expensive, ill-advised and someone should tell him to change it: a haircut that acts as a metaphor for his England team) to the utter inanities he comes out with in the press.

The head of the Croatian FA has said that he'll buy a shiny new Mercedes and give cash bonuses to the three best players should Croatia win. I don't know about you but a) I'd be fully motivated to win playing for my country anyway and b) i'd want a shiny new Mercedes.

I'd want a manager with a bit of charisma as well. Ive seen cockroaches with more charisma and that bloody ginge. He can't manage, can't entertain, can't do his hair properly, can't manage, can't pick the right players, can't manage, can't do proper interviews, has a boring voice, is boring, plays boring football, is ginge.
