We've had a string of decent managers before Mclaren and they all went the same way. Didn't win, everyone said they were crap, then they get fired. Spot a pattern here? No wonder Big Phil didn't want the job. as for Jose getting it, what planet are you guys on, there is no way he should go near that job, he can easily get a much better one, look what it did to Sven. Probably oner of the best managers around before he took the England job and where is he know? Man City! Yes he's doing well, but he should be at a world class club. Best leave Macca to it I say. Mediocre manager for a team of overpaid, underperforming nancy boys.

I think we're considerably worse under McClaren than we were under Sven with broadly the same squad of players. Whatever you think about our performances in tournaments under him, he got us there with minimal fuss. Only narrow squeak under him was the 2002 WC and that was because he inherited a qualifying campaign from Keegan.

& I actually think Scolari might fancy England, if only for the money. We'd probably have got him if Barwick hadn't insisted on recruiting Sven's replacement before the WC.

Scolari did fancy it. Our media camped outside his house after he publically said if he was to be hounded by press he wouldn't take the job. Nothing's changed and it won't, so he won't take the job.

of course it would be different with a new manager. Guess what, Korea are rubbish and yet Hiddink got them to the semi finals. I don't buy into all the crap aout England not being good enough or there players not being able to pass the ball, sure we haven't neccesarily got the best bunch of players but they'd be in the top 5 or 6 sets of players in the world.

Here we go then! The first 20 minutes prove that we are overrated as a team, we have some great individuals, but not a great team and the sooner some English fans get to grips with that the better. If we can't get a point tonight then we don't deserve to go through. At least United can't be blamed for this, unlike when the English press have blamed the Neville's, Beckham's and Rooney's. Russia should win in Andorra, so we need something special now really.

Right I wanted to wait till HT but we're that shite I can't. Carson=crap. Lampard and Barry are overpaid nancy boys who refuse to do any defending in the final third. Hargreaves should have started over Lampard. Crouch shouldn't be up front on his own. Beckham needs to come on because we are only going to score from set plays and he actually cares about England. the defence is shite especially Sol Campbell and the pitch is a disgrace. I still don't understand the logic behind playing 4-5-1 at home when they should be looking to win. Crouch never plays up front on his own for El Poole so why is the ginner playing him up there? It's annoying me how when Crouch flicks it on to nobody Lawro and Motson are bemoaning the fact that no one is there. He's up front on his own, that's why there's nobody there you stupid inbred twats.
