2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - India (UAE/Oman)

I didn't post at all yesterday, but to be honest feels like I'm tired of watching cricket now, need some break from it.

The performance yesterday then Bumrah saying six months away from the family impacts you mentally, I agree and respect his words but at the same time see what Stokes did, TOOK A BREAK! If you want no one's stopping you, there are so many talented people waiting for their chances, nonetheless I'm upset with the manner India's been playing, everyone seems exhausted. I don't know where is our future but currently the lot themselves won't want to qualify and play more matches.

Next on to 2022 now. BCCI should rest all the players who want to be and prepare well for 2022 and 2023 before we begin the transition to Iyer and co.

I am completely fine being knocked out. Not the end of the world. I want to know the selection policy and the continuous re-jig and jazz since Kohli's appointment. That's all. The bubble life for the Indian cricketers is mad. They have been on the road a long time and it's not like they're the first team to lose two back to back T20's. The issue is the planning and policy.

Looking forward to the debuts of Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi against NZ series ...

Chahal , Chahar and Bishnoi for that leg spinner spot . Chahal is nice but we have one year and anyone of them can come good ...

I blame Big Ant for the loss yesterday.. Since they licensed NZ they skilled them really high and since BCCI didnt give the license for India they lowered their skills a lot.. Thinking of messaging @Ross about this..
There was absolutely no vision when going into this WC! They went in with players that displayed clear lack of form in the tournament that just preceded the tournament and I’m not surprised they faltered.

The toss played a huge role and had the luck been with Virat (which it hasn’t since as he loses all the important tosses) and we had batted first, then the scorelines could have been very different. But the problem was, the team just wasn’t carrying the form required to overcome that loss of crucial tosses and we have the clear results of that.

I love Virat as a captain but am just glad that he stepped down from limited overs captaincy. He just doesn’t carry the captains luck at all and I feel it will be better for Indian cricket as he can also focus on his batting and Virat in form with the bat is way more crucial than Virat the captain

The Disaster was supposed to happen the way the whole tournament build up was for India.

Right From Poor Selection - Have been telling since its selection the squad looks thin specially in bowling.

Picking Bhuvi ahead of both Siraj and Chahar an outright blunder, not Just IPL the latter two have been doing well since last year or so.

Ashwin getting picked out of nowhere is a big backward step as well should have kept Chahal atleast in the reserves if wanted an experienced spinner.

Rift in the team - Surely there is , remember reading an article in the news about few senior Players complained about Kohli after the England Tour thought it was hoax but there might be more to it.

I don't think so any rifts does exist in the team. This is clearly lack of planning and the inability to execute the right things at the right time. And this is what has happened under Shastri-Kohli duo right throughout.

I think it was a poor decision to not let Rohit open. I was excited to see Kishan open but not at the expense of Rohit batting down- clearly doesn't look fit for middle order anymore.

Again, they did no planning of which bowler to attack, how to tackle Boult and Southee, how to keep the scoreboard ticking against the spinners. Talk about bowling the best bowlers upfront with a 111-run target on the board. Bumrah, Shami, etc were saved for what?

Yes I am sure it is just "luck" that has prevented him from winning an IPL crown as captain for 10 years and how many ICC tournaments now where we have had amateur hours in big match situations? Surely you must believe then that he's been the best batter in the world between 2012-13 to 2019-20 on the basis of luck?

Disagree mate!
I don't want to change your opinion here. But you haven't read that entire paragraph of mine. Management picked the best possibly squad at that time (sometime in July, I believe). Then we had the second leg of IPL where the committee could go and finalise the squad with more clarity. But they didn't.

Again, we have seen that Shastri has predominantly been a YES man while MSD has his eyes fixated on a few players only.
Again, they have the Authority. But they don't want to excise it. As you said, Shastri is okay with kohli's call, Kohli's makes horrible choices and MSD is never in this loop. So authority is there (as it was under MSD or any other captain), but was not used.

Wo bro... Take a chill pill. We're in a cricket discussion thread talking about this t20 wc right? We've ripped apart Indian team enough. Let's calmly watch remaining WC and move on.... Let's bring Eng v SL now please. We'll talk about India again on Wednesday alright? :cheers
These sand desert pitches always have advantage batting second..90% games in this tournament won by team bats second.win the toss and win the game. Only guessing needed about who wins the toss.

Oh yes! Agreed. So shall we move into blaming pitches please? :lol

BCCI has to be blamed as it is hosted by India. They could have moved it to Srilanka/Bangladesh instead of UAE.
Ya... Actually covid was there in South Asia region that time. ICC Should have taken it to NZ, the only covid free country in the world! :p ;)

Else, could have cancelled it. WT22 is there anyway.

Headline from 2023: Babar & Rizwan rip a new one as India falters in an ICC Tournament again ;)
I did not say that you would be beaten. I meant Mauka Mauka ad will come back in 2023. If that happens, I would want Pakistan to win.
