Ok, its been close to 24 hours and as I promised before the game, I wanted to stay away from any types of social media on they day and few hours before and after. First of all congratulations to Pakistan on that thrashing.
Now lets talk about the performances, Rohit is slow to start the tournament and this first ball duck will only give him the oomph he needs. I am sure he will bounce back. KL has been in solid form and cannot blame him, that ball would have dismissed almost any batsman in the world. VIRAT KOHLI the batsman--- this is why you always have him in the side. Some "experts" were questioning his place on this forum and outside on social media based on his recent form. I had mentioned that the name alone is enough to create fear. Rishabh Pant was so good and had he not gotten out, we would have scored 20-30 extra runs. It was because of Kohli and Pant we even reached 150.
On our bowling, Varun, Jaddu and Bumrah were ok in bits and pieces. What made our bowling look more mediocre is Kohli's captaincy (4 overs 4 bowlers) and Bhuvi. HE is so out of sorts he needs to be dropped. Shardul has to come in for Bhuvi/Pandya and Ashwin or Chahar has to come in for Bhuvi/Pandya.
On Pakistan's win, you know what won them the game? Afridi? Babar/Rizwan? NOOOO, the fielding won them the game. When Pakistan have played against India, the fielding has let them down so often. No body is talking about how good and profession Pakistan were on field. Some amazing saves. Afridi's spell was so crucial that it 50% won them the game in the first 5 overs itself. Amazing!
Congratulations to all my Pakistani brothers, the manner of defeat has hurt me and not losing against Pakistan. I feel this rivalry is all hyped up, we all blame our politicians for this! Dirty politics played on both side of borders and 1.5 billion people are deprived from seeing two nations playing against each other.
As expected, the social media is filled with filth and has been utter disgraceful. The abuse thrown at players has been pathetic. I wish we all grow up from this. The thing is that since India Pakistan do not play bi-lateral, we will always play in group stages in WC's and ICC events. So next year again we will get to witness India play Pakistan in the T20 WC. Again we will see both the teams play in 2023 WC. So can we get down with the hype please?
Also I am so happy we lost and that stat is out of the way. No more social media keyboard warriors trolling on you have never won a match against us in ICC events and end of Mauka Mauka, which while it lasted was fun.
I read close to 1.1 billion view the match yesterday.. is that true?
