2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - India (UAE/Oman)

I think a great deal is being made out of this. Twitter is literally gaga over these scenes. To be honest, what else do you expect? Babar and his team mates arent likely to gang up and beat MSD and Kohli to a pulp, no matter the rivalry between the 2 countries.

Commentators like Bhogle, with their amazing levels of stupidity keep calling this out. Its uncalled for. This happens after every game of cricket nowadays. Shikhar Dhawan provided his 2-bits to the Lankans. Really dunno what to make of statements like- won my heart/ melted me,blah blah!

Hope people grow out of this!
Well, after a disappointing loss for me, it was good to see this because after the game is over there should be no left over emotions. Not about winning the heart, but being graceful in win or loss.

The format is fickle and is more prone to upsets than any other. A couple of good overs for either side, is all it takes to assert domination. Based on India's mental state, NZ will be tough to beat.
They are known to comeback strong, although these are t20is, I feel they can do a MCG or The Oval against NZ. Can happen.

Yes, but it’s special in this context, given the off-the-field relationship between the two countries.

I appreciate Kohli the way he handled the media and accepted the loss with an open heart and gave the credit where it was due. However, the head coach Ravi Shastri's Face was there to watch out for. He looked so frustrated and disappointed with the loss. I don't think so that its over for India, they are favorites for the Semi-Finals still. Their match against Newzeland holds the key now. If somehow India gets out in the first round then I think I am seeing Shastri back to the commentary box. :) I really liked his commentary and excitement when India was batting.

On the other hand, Pakistan has to break the unpredictable jinx now just like they have broken the streak jinx. As Babar said in the casual team meeting in the locker room that we have to ensure that we will perform at our best in every game and should not be over-excited.

Just in case if you are unaware- Shastri's term ends after the conclusion of WT20. Also Kohli is going to step down from all T20s (includes IPL) as a Captain and will continue as a player. He announced this about a month ago.

Snippet from Cricket 22 press conference
you guess it right ,it is from ***stan media man..he does not want rohit sharma killing them in next game we play against them(Remember the 140+ in WC19 group match against them)..will see how many games their players play better..if rizwan, babar gets out cheaply in future games what he would ask..Dubai pitch is always batting second track ,we have seen similar finishes in IPL (second batting team chasing it easily).Losing toss is 70% losing the game. The Idea of T20 world cup on these pitches is a bad idea--Mostly batting second team wins(it has been same for most warm up,qualifiers and all super 12 results so far)..you lose the toss then game almost gone.

Don't worry bro we'll come back strongly. After every Adelaide there's a Gabba. Pakistan played really good cricket yesterday. Full credit to their efforts.
Congratulations to all the Pakistanis in this forum..hope we meet again in this tournament ✌️

I know about Virat Kohli stepping down as T20 Captain. As for Shastri term ending, its happening for good I believe. Waiting for him in the Commentary box

my point is not about that..my point is about pitches in UAE..bat second and you win the game 80% time.there will be assistance for the bowlers in first 10-15 overs of first innings then pitches become flat..it has been same for all games in T20 World cup(90% of warm up,qualifiers,100% of super 12 games happened so far won by team bat second)..I hate these dust sand pitches where game mostly depends on toss.Bad decision from BCCI(hosts of world cup) to choose UAE rather Srilanka or south africa or any other..

The phenomenal performances of the "big three", Babar, Shaheen and Rizwan, have obscured the other players' contributions a bit. Hats off to Imad, Shadab, Hafeez and Haris. They executed their roles to perfection, bowled brilliantly, all of them. Special mention for Haris, incredible death bowling. Hasan got two key wickets too.
