Even if the opposition team doesn't appeal? I feel like that's the main factor that has prevented the number to go up untill now
 
Ganguly is so close for named as 1st Batsman to be given out as Time-out Wicket... But it is totally different than Mathew...

Captains have the right to withdraw any appeal. MSD did that during the Ian Bell run out. Any instance of 'Mankading' can also be reversed if the captain requests so.

In the Sydney test match, Mark Benson requested Ricky Ponting to look into the dubious catch appeals against Ganguly.

So, in short, the onus is on the captain for any sort of decision.
 
In rule or not in rule, captains have the last say and the reason Bangladesh have had such bad luck in cricket is because of the obnoxious things the players have done. From Mushfiqur to Taskin to Shakib, they all have no sportsman spirit whatsoever.

Anywho, since this was against Lanka I dont care!
 
Admit, not a massive fan of Bangladesh, but they have played by the book here. Additionally, I have never heard the crib ever over 'Mankad' or dubious 'Spirit of Cricket' decisions against them.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand have effected such dismissals and can choose to complain. However, without considering the teams in question, I'd say the fielding captain was right and well within the rule book to appeal.

Don't think that should be the attitude. If it was against India, you might have been anguished. I'd be ok tbh, if this happened vs India. Generally, Indians know the rule and seldom stray away from it.

I am no fan of Bangladesh but this Sri Lankan team seems the whiniest lot. They’ve been complaining about the dew and wet ball almost every over and not satisfied with the replacement ball either.

Barring Madushanka, their bowling has been mostly ineffective throughout the tournament.
