Haris Rauf, giving 25% of total runs Pakistan had against them by just one bowler is never good. He did not learn throughout and kept bowling the same way.

Read a stat yesterday that Haris Rauf averages 19.something with an economy of less than 6 with 15 wickets to his name if you take away all deliveries he bowled before the 15th over this WC.

Anybody with half a working braincell knew he would struggle bowling with the new ball, because he struggles with it in domestic, PSL and even T20Is. There's obviously something to be said about a cricketer being good enough to be thwarted in any phase/stage of the game if they're going to be playing at international level, but knowing the limitations Haris has and hasn't worked on, I think the onus is on Babar for repeatedly giving him the new ball when he was repeatedly putting out those performances.

Oh absolutely, after the India game, it was discussed how they should not be using Haris soon and only to be used in the middle stages of the innings. Babar and management kept making the same mistake.

Also to take Babar's side for just a minute, he dint have many option. Wasim was brought in late, Nawaz and Shadab and Ifti does not give me confidence either in before 20 overs.

Well, that's the point - why was he brought in late when he was in the main squad and they knew they didn't have a new ball bowler to pair with Shaheen. Both Hasan and Haris have terrible numbers with the new ball, yet he persisted with both of them before giving Jr a chance.

Should've played four pacers from the beginning - I know with the benefit of hindsight it's easier to say these things, but I don't believe it takes a rocket scientist to figure out that without Wasim, you have no one to pair with Shaheen. Haris and Hasan were doomed to bring disaster from the start, yet Babar did nothing about it.

And obviously playing four pacers means only one of Shadab and Nawaz makes it to the side, but that really is collateral damage for the sake of team balance and composition. Besides, with the way our spinners turned up, playing four pacers couldn't have possibly been a worse decision to make.

Always, always accentuate your strengths and hide your weaknesses. Instead of hoping that somehow on match day, your weaknesses are hidden by mistakes made by your opposition - THAT is what I believe Babar was doing.

New Zealand has always troubled India in tournaments or elsewhere. I do not want to say much for tomorrows game as neither I want to jinx or reverse jinx. May the best team win the match on that day.
