True! Back then, I was worried about Ind v Aus at Ahmedabad. Win that and we would be unstoppable.

I feel the same today as well- win the semis and we should take the Finals as well, irrespective of the opposition.

This is quite insane if it’s true. Isn’t the ICC supposed to oversee pitches?

It has happened 4 times already too! Jeez!

Atkinson is understood to have grown frustrated at the lack of a straight answer about preparations for the final, which prompted him to fly to Ahmedabad last Friday.

And it has transpired that while the tournament's opening game, between England and New Zealand, had taken place on the pre-agreed pitch No 6, none of the next three matches conformed to the schedule, with Atkinson claiming in an email to his bosses that the changes had been made 'without proper notice or forewarning'.

The matter was complicated by the fact that he was told by the ICC's senior events manager at the venue that the India v Pakistan game there on October 14 took place on pitch No 7, as per the schedule, when it actually took place on pitch No 5.

What a fraud. Expect Indian fans to just laugh at it though, and flex "this is BCCI's power", while the same board treats them like cockroaches

I'll either be ecstatic today :Cheersmate: or some random people here are gonna lose some of their vCash reserves as some sort of compensation for me

You all have been warned.

The funny thing is that BCCI doesn’t even need to do it, they would have won anyway, but they just can’t resist acting like assholes
The ****ers have been doing the same since 2016 WT20

All the pitches where India played where absolutely treacherous for a T20 match slow and low and got hammered vs NZ too in Nagpur.

Tilting the pitch in favour of spin is a moronic decision against NZ if true purely from a playing perspective.

Especially when your pace bowlers are the ones who have been running through the teams in most of the matches earlier in the tournament!

I mean, putting Kuldeep and Jadeja versus Santner and Phillips seems like a good tactic to me
One can only hope it backfires spectacularly.
I doubt it, at least not in this match

I would have vouched for a New Zealand victory today, but this wonderful post has tilted my support slightly towards the men in blue. Keep inspiring :cheers

You start to negate skill differences the better a pitch gets for one type of bowling. I don’t think it’ll be as pronounced as in tests (which is why I think the pitch talk being impactful is overblown in this format) but it still could make a difference.

I also think their batting works better in such conditions compared to the usual Wankhede fare.

Rohit Sharma has been better than Kohli this WC, he gives India the best start possible and makes it easier for others to come and score runs.
Something that was missing for a long time. We played timid cricket for a long time and were under achieving.

It is refreshing to see attacking approach in this WC and hope this can continue into T20's.
