Starc 2015 still is my number one but Shami could easily change it with a killer performance in the final.

Continuing on with the 2015 references, I’d put the 2015 Aussie team up there. The only thing they lacked was a quality spinner but they were quite stacked in other departments.
Shami does have one more wicket in two fewer matches. His strike rate is almost as good as his average which is 9.13.

Imagine him playing in that Semi against NZ in 2019. He would have been killer.

Kohli had a century drought for 2 years and since last September, he has scored 10 since. 20 more for 100 100, any possibility?

Whoever enters the final tomorrow, is going to have an uphill task facing up to this Indian team and that too in front of 120K people of whom easily 95% or more will be supporting India and ferociously. Lot of people on commentary and social media mentioned that Wankhede today itself was very partisan and that was just 40k odd people in total. The Modi stadium is 3x bigger.

Pretty confident that the pitch will be another batting beauty. Recently Ahmedabad has upped their pitch game and give excellent batting pitches. It will be a worthy final whoever makes it. But Rohit Sharma is very very likely to be lifting the World Cup Trophy this Sunday night and will possibly become the 3rd Indian captain to do so after Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni!

Contrary to most people I’m actually afraid of South Africa more than Australia at this juncture. They’re capable of throwing it away for sure but they’re also a more dangerous foe even if they’re at 70-80% of their potential. Bavuma not scoring till now is also an ominous sign.

But tell me honestly, if not India would you not want Africa to win the title?

Absolutely. I’m a big fan of the current Proteas side and I’ve also been laughing silently at how so many people have changed their opinions on them across social media and are currently calling them one of the best ODI sides in the world when two months ago the same people were calling this the worst Proteas team since readmission.

If they do end up playing better cricket than us in the final I wouldn’t begrudge them winning the title either.

Not against Temba, but genuinely feel that SA need to bring in an in form Reeza Hendricks at the top for the KO. Temba's form leaves behind a lot many question marks.

My preference is for Temba to lift the trophy, after getting a golden duck. I believe this would cause r/cricket to self destruct which can only be good for humanity.

Can’t wait for that one South African ‘fan’ to implode in anger and delete his account once this happens.
