This feels like the 2011 World Cup Quarter Final when Tharanga and Dilshan knocked England out
A guy needs to satisfy his ego, what more reasons do you need
It is being developed as a multi sport facility ,with an eye on the 2036 Olympics. Honestly, sometimes I feel our own people lambast our country way too much. There’s an argument of “does Ahmedabad need such a big stadium in it’s city?” which is worth asking.
Dont be a mute spectator, we miss all your cricketing thoughts..Its days like these, that makes me feel happy that I dont passionately follow international cricket anymore Promising people free food and lying to them that its an India vs Pakistan match today in order to bring them into the stadium? Picking a stadium/city like Ahmedabad for a non-India WC opener.... Everything that the BCCI has done so far with regards to this tournament, has been nothing short of PATHETIC!!!
Sorry I was a mute spectator here but I had to say this.....
I don't understand the hue and cry about the crowds at the opener. It is a weekday working day. A stadium of that size, does it really need to be 75% full?
What about matches during CWC 2015 in Australia? Were stadiums full for those? Those who are crying over it, I bet you anything we will have similar turnouts in Sri Lanka 2026 and Pakistan 2025 as well.

I think even Hyderabad would have done better. Definitely better if India/Pakistan in it.this stadium was in Mumbai or Kolkata even with the shoddy organisation
I mean that'd be true in Ahmedabad too, the bilateral series vs England was sold out even when COVID was rampantDefinitely better if India/Pakistan in it.

Its a Thursday during working hours, I think every city in India would struggle to sell out a 100k seater stadium for a match where India isnt even playing.
I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment here, but I dont think the low attendance is a sign of ODIs or cricket dying which has been shared widely
