So, South Africa have played 6 games so far where they have chased twice. Out of those 2, they lost badly to Netherlands of all teams and almost lost today to Pakistan (1 wicket win). Their remaining 4 games while batting first have all been GIGANTIC victories (every single one more than 100 runs atleast).

There seems to be a formula to stop South Africa from winning this World Cup and its to make them chase a target. They already look vulnerable and come the semis against very strong teams, their minds will also be infiltrated with thoughts of past failures to win World Cups. Do they even have a mental psychologist or similar, to guide them through? I watched the last 10 overs today and Markram being in a position of authority had a huge brain fade moment and threw his wicket away.

I hope SAF get past their mental block finally this time, but its not looking good to me from what I saw today.

Amidst all the hooplah about umpiring and what not, people seem to have forgotten that Pakistan failed to play out their 50 overs and had yet another collapse by losing their last 5 wickets for 45 runs. Babar throwing his wicket away after another 50. They had around 3 overs left. Another 20-30 runs at death and it could have been a winning total.

It was yet another batting failure which cost them the game, more than anything else

Genuinely afraid of this AUS side. Hopefully we'll dodge them in semis. With this form, this team will stream roll anyone on decks like Eden or Wankhade

Who on earth thought he was a good option at three with spin flooding in?
Yup, stupid decision (he literally cost Smithy his wicket)
Post automatically merged:

Green is struggling to score runs, Stoinis is also cooked! Smithy have shown in the past that he can smoke em, Marnus doesn't deserve to be dropped IMO!
Not sure why both Smith and Labuschagne are playing. Would have certainly played another all rounder who could tonk it.

Phillips has to be the best utility cricketer on the planet. Can bat at nearly every position, can play as both an accumulator or a hitter, can bowl tidy off spin, runs and fields like a madman and can also keep.

The RR was around eleven when he came in. His first over was the first one in the innings that didn’t end with a boundary in it. Since then he’s dismissed the openers who scored a fifty and a hundred and has also dismissed the next best batter on paper in this side.

When he finished his spell the RR was at seven and a half. This was an insane bowling performance by every metric from someone who was seen as nothing more than a part-timer.
