So, South Africa have played 6 games so far where they have chased twice. Out of those 2, they lost badly to Netherlands of all teams and almost lost today to Pakistan (1 wicket win). Their remaining 4 games while batting first have all been GIGANTIC victories (every single one more than 100 runs atleast).
There seems to be a formula to stop South Africa from winning this World Cup and its to make them chase a target. They already look vulnerable and come the semis against very strong teams, their minds will also be infiltrated with thoughts of past failures to win World Cups. Do they even have a mental psychologist or similar, to guide them through? I watched the last 10 overs today and Markram being in a position of authority had a huge brain fade moment and threw his wicket away.
I hope SAF get past their mental block finally this time, but its not looking good to me from what I saw today.
