Releases & Retentions
- Each franchise confirmed their releases and retentions ahead of the 2024 Indian One-Day Championship.
- Price tags from released players were added back to their respective franchise's salary purse ahead of the Player Auction.
- Each franchise took with them ₹100 crores into the Player Auction, with only the retention fees deducted from the purse.
Squads
- Each franchise can have a maximum of 22 players in their squad, with a maximum of 7 overseas signings allowed.
- Each franchise is required to have a minimum of 15 local players, but can have up to 22 local players in the squad.
- Franchises with more than 22 players in their squad were required to release players ahead of the auction.
Retirements
- Players who retired after May 26, 2024 are considered eligible to play in the championship.
- Players who retired before April 6, 2024 have been released from their respective franchise's squads.
- Players who retired after May 26 but last played FC/List A before the World Cup are also ineligible.
- Bids made before the official start time will be considered null and void.
- Bidding is not mandatory in any of the rounds/pools for any franchise.
- Please be mindful of everyone's time and try not to drag this on for too long.
- 2024 IODC Player Auction will commence on SUNDAY, 29th of December at 5:30 PM IST / 12:00 PM GMT
General Rules
- Each franchise will take into the auction the leftover salary purse from the initial ₹100 crore budget following player retentions.
- Each franchise can have a maximum of 22 players in their squad, with a maximum of 7 overseas signings allowed.
- Each franchise is required to have a minimum of 15 local players, but can have up to 22 local players in the squad.
- If you blow your budget and are unable to bid the base price of the lowest category player (₹20 lacs) to complete your squad, your bid(s) will be rejected.
* Deletion or alteration of bids will result in a ₹20 lac penalty for first offense, ₹50 lac penalty for second offense and ₹1 crore + ejection from that round for third (and following) offenses.
Squad Rules
- Each franchise can have a maximum of 22 players in their squad, with a maximum of 7 overseas signings allowed.
- Each franchise is required to have a minimum of 15 local players, but can have up to 22 local players in the squad.
Bidding Rules
- Bidding Rounds will occur in 10 Pools. Each pool will consist of 12 players and any franchise can bet on up to 7 players from a single round.
- However, franchises may not bid on more players than required to complete their main squad
- Franchises may also only bid on as many overseas players as they are allowed in foreign player pools
- Bidding increments can only happen in multiples of ₹10 lacs; jumping is allowed
₹10 lacs is one decimal to a crore: ₹1.1 crore is an acceptable bid whereas ₹1.01 crore is not.
- A player is sold if a) all teams except the leading bidder back out, or b) 24 hours have passed since the leading (last) bid
- A player is unsold if a) all teams back out or b) 24 hours pass and the player receives zero bids after going up on the podium
Unregistered Players
- Player Pools consist of shortlisted players who put their name forth to play in the Indian One-Day Championship
- If you wish to choose a player not in any of the Pools (say, Mohammad Nawaz), let me know privately.
- If no one else wants your selected player, you can have them at the end of the auction at their base price unchallenged.
- If there are clashes, those players can be individually bid upon between those managers at the end of the auction.
- If there are more glaring omissions (say, Shikhar Dhawan if he were still active) then let me know, I will readjust the pools.
Base Prices
- Capped player (ODIs) - ₹1 crore
- Uncapped player (ODIs) - ₹50 lacs
- Uncapped U19 player (ODIs) - ₹20 lacs
- General player rules also applicable (no retired cricketers unless they play List-A or First Class cricket, and no T20-only cricketers).
