I will take that for sure. Even if we exit the tournament, I would like for us to go out on a high. And getting that close and exiting would be actually better for the boys because they will feel that they came so close.

Raina injured? Is that any new development? Raina is a beast on such bounceless wickets. Losing him would be awful for our chances. Hope he is fit.

Is Yadav in WI? Has he reached? Pathan opening wont be a bad idea. He opened for us in the 2007 edition final and did decently too (scored a quickfire 15).

Jayasuriya should just be dropped and Perera should play instead of him. He is old he cant score any runs and hasn't scored any so far in this tournament. There has to be someone that is madly in love with Sanath because he should have been dropped 2 years ago. All he is doing now is taking up a spot for someone like Perera or even Jayasinghe. Dilshan can be that 6th option as a bowler and Perera can also use up a few overs.

I am also wondering why they don't select Thushara who is a good bowler but just hasn't gotten any chances.

Excellent changes. Even if Vinay Kumar is bashed around by the SL batsmen, its ok. Atleast we can know what he is made up of. Zaheer was poor in this tournament so far. Vijay got his chances and didnt use them against the big teams. He has himself to blame. Thankfully, Jadeja is dropped. Chawla is a better spinner and this wicket could suit him. Hope India dont open with Harbhajan today and keeps him up for the latter overs.

Good start to proceedings that we are batting first. Prayers on lips that India wins by a margin that puts them in a position to make it to the semis if Australia beat West Indies.

Pathan batting positing is good as it is. He will just throw his wicket away at opening. You need a batsman at end who can increase the run rate and take the team total to big scoreand and he is well suited in slog overs.

BTW India wanted WI to lose whereas WI wanted India to win. Cricket is a funny game, isn't it

Don't get your hopes up! Pakistan have got their luck and it not happens every time that same luck goes to both teams. Even if India wins by 20 runs then WI may beat Aus (if you remember how WI owned Aus last time)
