I m ok with playing anyone on current form im the weakest so it doesnt make a difference who I face... the apprehension seemed to be from lonewolf which is hardly surprising going by the previous result between then .. I feel hkr is very strong I have my money on him to win it

Hmmm....Well I have my money on the guys from GRP B......It will b great to see a Rizzy vs HKR final....But good luck to everyone....

ok i'll put up a comment as well, i like to be underdog, no pressure i see on me! plus to be honest i have lost against all of them i played recently even newbies i dont know what is going on its probably my mind set i had some personal issues, but i dont want to be written off i'll give my best shot as always and put up the spirit of cricked i havent played for last 4 days either out of match practice the odds on lonewolf to beat me should be in decimal 1.30 and me 8, frankly speaking but i'll try my best to reach finals , lonewolf come and get me but beware of some ass kicking ;) i dont mind who ever i play i just want to play and im realy happy with all you guys up here been really good, a good tournament nice decent people who play with honesty. comeone i deserve some applause i do when its required like reaching super 6 i have come across rizzy krish who i think are best players i won last 5 match in a row, now its do or die, just hoping there is no lagging no connection problems and u get a real winner! all the best

SEMI FINALS RESULTS

Match 80: Semi FInal 2: West Indies(Rizzyx) vs India(lilas11)

@lonewolf.. I call myself the weakest since I havent played the game in a week and my last games were a big defeat to Thandamilk and 3 no results against krish with the game in krish's favor..so my confidence is really low..

@hkr4evr ... you have been a great player in the tourney and your entry really got the tournament alive.. I still think u ll win the tourney but ur toughest test should be the semi's.. with the toss being extremely crucial since both u n lonewolf seem to struggle a lil bit batting first... so should be a great game

@thandamilk.. you got unlucky bro but the fact that players like you and gougie couldnt make it to the super 6's highlights the quality of players playing the tournament .. I think with this set of players a few good players would always lose out though it only makes for healthy competition I expect u to hit back strongly in the next edition... I eagerly look forward to your brilliant preview of the semi finals

@harris.. thanks for being a sport and conceding your game... I did some math and you needed to beat both me n lonewolf by over 150 runs to have any chance of qualifying which even you would agree would be close to impossible...

@ rizzy... let me know when ull be free and we can get our semis.. I hope our game can be as exciting as our previous encounters in tournament... good luck bro

A Preview of the 2nd PS3 Ashes 2009 Tourney Semi Final(ist)s
A Special Report

In the time that its taken my second born to, well, be born, crawl, walk, run, babble, talk, finish school, fall in love, get married and have 3 beautiful kids, the 2nd PS3 Tourney has finally offered up 4 deserving Semi Finalists.

The line-up is a celebration of all that is beautiful about the gentleman's game. We've got 4 teams that are as different as fraternal twins born to an African American mother and a Sardar father (and as explosive).

In NZ (Lonewolf), we've got the most improved team since the last tourney. Having lost only a single game in the entire tourney, their performance has been nothing short of sensationally clinical. Sporting the tightest bowling outfit in the tourney and clearly deserving of the "favorites" tag, NZ would do well though to watch replay after replay of their ill-fated 1992 world cup semi finals. They only need to guard against two things. One is totally in their hands - how well they deal with the pressure of a knock-out game. The other, is something they will only hope they can do something about - a phenomenon called HKR.

Eng (HKR) in this tourney have been an enigma - the volatile swings in their form and fortune carrying more of an anything-can-happen aura of a Pakistan unit rather than the predictability of a typical English team. At the halfway mark in the Group Stages their tally read 1 win against 4 losses, including a shocking defeat at the hands of Bangladesh. They then turned it around with 5 straight and fairly comprehensive wins to breeze into the Semis. Though they've lost 4 of 6 games in the Super-6 stages, the script couldn't have been set up better for another turnaround. They've sized up the opposition, they've got them where they want them - basking in a sense of false security - and they are ready for the kill. Its just a matter of which HKR shows up.

India (Lilas) started off their journey on the wrong foot, possibly still basking in the glory of their previous tourney win. They were off color, suddenly out of form and not half the team that lifted the trophy only a few weeks back. Champions though, revel in the face of adversity and that's exactly what the Indians did. They knuckled down, got their act together and win by win threaded together a formidable Group Stages campaign. The Champions have really hit their stride in the Super 6s, and have peaked at just the right time. Unlike NZ, who can choke opponents with their precise lines, India don't rely on any one aspect of their game to succeed. Unlike Eng or the Windies, they also may not turn a match on its head in a 5 over period through a flash of brilliance. They have however the most solid all-round game among the semi-finalists and that's a good place to be. Till another team stakes a valid claim to that title, there is only one Champion.

The Windies (Rizzy) have cruised through to the Semis, some would say unnoticed. There were reports in the media of their captain's waning interest in a tiring, long tourney away from home; however they've managed to be relevant and play the brand of entertaining cricket they are known for throughout the duration of the tourney. The only team to have beaten NZ this tourney, the Windies are perhaps more comfortable setting a target given the unbashed exuberance with which their top order smacks the ball around. Conversely, if they can keep wickets in hand, no total is big enough for them to chase. One thing is certain in their match against the Indians - it will be a close, keenly contested affair, as have been all their games in this tourney and beyond.

---------------------------------------

There's nothing in it really. As cliched as it may sound, rarely do you see 4 teams in the Semis who have an almost equal chance of winning. Here are some passing, unsolicited comments/observations from this reporter on what might make or break it for each of the teams.

NZ (Lone)
Make it: If the opposition plays recklessly against their tight lines
Break it: If there is zero lag and the opposition reads the pace correctly, their strength could turn into a weakness with fairly predictable lines and lengths

Ind (Lilas)
Make it: Their solid, all-round game. If its going down to the wire, India will probably win
Break it: If the opposition can sustain a line of attack through their innings

Eng (HKR)
Make it: If their batting unit clicks, forget about it.
Break it: Over-aggression at the start

Windies (Rizzyx)
Make it: Their killer instinct.
Break it: If the opposition converts the opportunities they'll keep giving due to the aggressive nature of their game.

There you have it folks, a fantastic line-up and an exciting finale to the 2nd PS3 Championships. All the best to the 4 teams.
