5th Test: England vs Australia at the Brit Oval

I think the worry for England is that they have 3 bowlers doing nothing and only one of them is retiring.

Man, do South Africa need to keep their cricketers. This Trott guy looks awesome. Sound technique and great temperament.

He has a lisp too, lol.

Trott could not get into the current saffer side

Hate to say I told you so but he's the real deal.

Leicester Fox added 2 Minutes and 37 Seconds later...

Why did we drop Onions. Harmison has been rubbish for ages. Anderson isn't in top form. Broad can still not be trusted to win us the game even though he probably already has. Fred is just knackered and waiting to go out and get wasted.

Swann and Trott will have to lead us to victory with the ball.

Harmison is crap, I cannot believe they picked him over Onions.

Anderson is not threatening when the ball is not swinging.

Broad got lucky,

Swann is decent.

These 10 wickets will be really tough to get, would have been nice to have Monty in the side for this one.

(Did not even comment on Fred because he is going to bowl his 7-9 overs for the innings and maybe take the 1 tail ender wicket)

Broad got lucky? 5/37 is not lucky, talk sense.

I'm not worried. Almost every day this series, wickets have fallen early in the day (today was an exception). We have two whole days to get them out and that pitch is not going to get any better.

Ponting wicket was lucky

Haddin played a horrendous shot down the wrong line

Hussy is so out of form Boycotts mum could have gotten him

If he puts in a good performance in the 2nd innings ill shut up, but Broad is still crap as far as I am concerned

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion (even if it's wrong), but if Broad didn't impress yesterday, I really don't know what he has to do. His batting today looked pretty damn good as well.

Well I think Michael Hussey's playing for his career right now. If he does bat;)

I'm in a sense of disbelief. I think I bought into the hype that England would continue their shocking form from the 4th Test, but they've played brilliantly.

But to be fair this is England down to a tee; play brilliantly one moment and collapse the next. We have struggled with real consistency for a time now. I think the more interesting point from an Australian point of view is is where their consistency has gone. I mean that was their real strength for such a long time and it seems to have gone completely out the window. Its amazing to be talking about an Aussie side that you think and know could fold quite easily if a couple of wickets go down. Praise as well for Watson and Katich who played well to see off the session last night in pretty commanding form, apart from some nervous runs at the beginning and undoubtedly assisted by a pretty blunt bowling attack and a placid pitch. There is no doubt about it that England are a team that needs real assistance from conditions, whether it be the pitch or atmospherics, to create something. The truly great teams create something whenever, wherever. I am not trying to put the boys down because they have done wonderfully well to come back so strongly from the Headingly Horror Hour and if we win the Ashes the superlatives will fly all over the place again but there are some serious issues that need to be addressed within the quality of the team and this will not be only Andrew Flintoffs last test match.

We'll be even more reliable once we remove the dead wood from the team. I feel sorry for Onions, how he can be left out for a man who hasn't done anything for England in 2 years, when he has been the most reliable bowler in the series for us.
