It is back!
- eight 'A' teams
Australia A, England Lions, India A, New Zealand A, Pakistan A, South Africa A, Sri Lanka A, West Indies A
- squad selection with certain rules
The player should've played less than 40 ODI games. Apart from this, some specific players who have been regular in the lineups (example, George Bailey) but have less than 40 games won't be allowed. I'll post the list of them when squad selection begins, and since the list is subjective, my decision will be final. Besides, I'll post a preliminary list of eligible players, but squad selection isn't limited to them. Squad selection will begin after teams have been finalized.
- dynamic ratings
Ratings assigned to players won't be the same throughout the season but will vary based on notably coaches, injuries, pitch types and real-life form.
- ability to hire (and fire) coaches which affect your team
At the time of the squad selection each manager would also need to select a coach for his team. These coaches will affect the player ratings positively or negatively, but overall impact is supposed to be positive. Example, having someone like Glenn McGrath as coach will benefit your fast and fast medium bowlers but negatively let's say top order batsman. The ratings won't drastically change though. I won't reveal which coaches aspect which influence, but it will mostly be dictated by basic logic (as seen in the example above). I will post a list of all the aspects which coaches influence in general, at the time of squad selection. At mid-season, you'll be able to fire your coach and hire a new one.
- injury system
There will an injury system in the game. Slightly different from the old one. Players injured may be out, or play with minor reductions in ratings, depending on random variables. More on this later, as this will require a separate post.
- round robin format; 50 over game
Since I've a lot of experimentation going on already in this rendition of the league, I concluded that the best way to implement them was a round-robin format where all teams take on each other twice, at home and away. There will be two warmup rounds. Schedule will be out shortly.
- 6 type of pitches available to home teams
Hard
Dry
Dusty
Normal
Green
Damp/Wet
More on them shortly.
- Syedur Rehman's Cricksim
Cheers for the great simulator.
- official ranking system
It hasn't changed from the earlier times. Yet I'll make a post or link you to the original post.
Teams are now available to managers. First-come-first-serve it is now. Co-managing is alright, but first all the teams need to be taken. Manager activity and commitment will be required throughout the season.
