Injury System

Injuries are random. First an injury check is performed using the numbers 0 and 1. (0 means not injured, 1 means injured) A player is chosen randomly (using random.org, alloting number to players 1-15) Degree of injury is chosen randomly.
Degree of injury (0-2)
0 - can play with a minor rating drop (-1 or +1) and heals in one game
1 - can play with a major rating drop (-2 or +2) and heals in two games; if rested heals in one game
2 - out for two games

Additional Note: Total probability of a given player being injured after a game: 1/15*1/2=1/30. This is almost 2/3 times less than the probability of injury is the current system, that is 1/20.

Injury System does look really cool.

Can you make the points system more pleasing to my brain? :D

Yes, the rating system will be changed to the more linear one that The Author proposed. :)

Does that mean there would be a player or two injured every match? If that is so, it will be a tad too harsh. How about a player getting injured only if he plays 3 matches on the trot?

^Yup I echo that, or you can give Yudi's method but I don't really remember the league he used it on.

@Samuels. Well it shouldn't be much of an issue, given there is only a 1/4 chance of the player undergoing a two game injury. And 1/4 chance of not sustaining an injury at all. Most players would be healed within the round. What we could do is refresh all the players after the mid-season break (Round 7) and after the round-robin stage. And not have any injuries during the playoffs.

Squad Selection

Each team would comprise of a 15-man squad, and a coach. The players have to have played less than 40 One Day International (ODI) games. Specific players who are regular fixtures in the national ODI teams and have made a name for themselves won't be allowed. I'll post a list of them, and they are subjectively decided. Example, George Bailey, David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan. A coach can be any player who has retired from international cricket. Besides that, coaches will affect team's performance based on their area of expertise, generalized with the term coaching skills. Example, having someone like Glenn McGrath as coach will benefit your fast and fast medium bowlers but negatively let's say top order batsman. The ratings won't drastically change though. I won't reveal which coaches aspect which influence, but it will mostly be dictated by basic logic (as seen in the example above). I will post a list of all the aspects which coaches influence in general, at the time of squad selection. At mid-season i.e. Round 7, you'll be able to fire your coach and hire a new one if you wish.

Select your coaches after the squad.

Coaching skills:
Code:
Batting:
Opening Batsman (1,2)
Top Order (1,2,3)
Middle Order (3,4,5)
Lower Order (6,7)
Tailenders (8,9,10,11)
Left Handed Batsman
Wicketkeeper Batsman

Bowling:
Fast
Fast Medium
Medium
Off Spin
Leg Spin
Spin
Left Hand Spin
Left Arm Bowling
Left Arm Pace

Miscellaneous:
Durability
Captaincy

NOTE: The coaching skills depend on the coach. So, a coach who has played his whole career as a left handed opening batsman while bowling part time medium pace will positively effect left handed batsman and openers (the two do not stack), while negatively affecting spin bowling. Overall impact of coaches will always be positive, in terms of ratings. Choose your coaches carefully to patch up any weaknesses in your team at the minor expense of strengths or to bolster the strengths even more while magnifying the weaknesses slightly. Coach selection and rating is a totally logical process.

I'll relent on the time due to New Year. So managers have until New Year's Eve to post their squads and coaches. I'll update and finalize the injury and ranking system and then we'll begin!

Coach: Imran Khan
. I believe he is the greatest genuine allrounder of all time followed by Sobers and Miller. He was good enough with the bat by averaging 37 when 40 was good enough for a pure batsman and he was the spearhead of Pakistan's deadliest attack. His leadership skills should be a boon to us as well. Botham lacked the consistency is the last 10 years or so of his career and Sobers is too old to coach so yes, Imran Khan it is for us.
