Like many others in this forum my objective is also to play a match in BLIC 2007 which will be close to the real exprience of playing/watching a cricket match. The match should not be an one sided boring affair with us outwitting the AI everytime we play.It should be challenging, and finally I got one.Had helluva fun fighting against the AI-Australia and myself-India in a World Cup Super Eight clash. The game was played in the Test Mode with variable weather,on a dry pitch.

Ponting won the toss and elected to bat.The AI(Aus) lived up to it's normal stupid-self,going after every ball. Thanks to B.Hodge's solitary effort-56*,riding on which the Aussies managed to put a total of 142 in only 16.1 overs. Z.Khan,Agarkar and Munaf were smiling coz all they did was bowled straight and watched the batsmen commit suicide!!!!
The highlight of the innings was the fielding,it was spot on with direct hits resulting in run outs and the keeper and the slip fielders holding on to absolute blinders(yeah, practice makes things perfect ).

As usual I was feeling disappointed as I had 50 overs to chase a meagre 142, cursing the Codies for making a god d**n stupid AI. Hogg(!!) and Bracken opened the bowling and maintained a good line and length with little or no room to play shots.Hogg picked up Ganguly and Sehwag and Bracken bowled the Indian Skipper,Dravid. Uthappa was run out by a direct hit by the Aussie Captain,Ponting. India was 25/4 and suddenly 142 seemed like chasing 342!

Tendulkar timed the ball well and tried to resurrect the Indian innings but a wrong press of the "run button" left Tendulkar stranded outside his crease and Gilchrist was only to glad running him out for 21(32).

It was all left in the hands of India's stylish left hander Yuvraj Singh accompanied by keeper M.S.Dhoni to save India's fortunes.Yuvraj was scoring freely but he was soon running out of partners. One by one Dhoni and Harbhajan fell and the tail was exposed. Agarkar gave Yuvraj as much strike as possible. From the other side Tait and Mcgrath were bolwing yorkers and bouncers in tandem with an attacking field setting to generate a batting collapse.Suddenly Ponting(AI) introduced Matty Hayden and his slow medium pace, which proved to strike a lethal blow.He bowled some dollys outside the offstump which was too hard to resist by tailender Agarkar and he dragged one into the stumps.Zaheer followed by commiting the same mistake. In the mean time Yuvraj completed his well made 50(57) but was it enough to see his side to victory?India was 137/9 in 38 overs.Required 6 runs to win as last man Munaf walked in to bat.

Munaf somehow managed to survive a blistering over by Tait getting hit thrice by his viscious bouncers.Mcgrath walked in to bowl the next over.Yuvraj blocked a few and then whipped one outside the offstump with a flick of his wrist and despatched it to the boundary for 4.The next delivery was pushed into the deep for a double and the game ended with India clinching victory over the mighty Aussies.Yuvraj remained unbeaten at 79(90) and was declared the Man Of The Match.

hey i like hayden too! i think he is the best player in the world at the moment, i dont know they hail tendulkar as such a high legend because matty H has done so much better than him in this world cup, hes my player of the tournament... :clap

I just played a 20/20 with my friend and flintoff hit a 6 on the last ball to get me a tie when i was only chasing 137

On a not unrelated issue, i found that by taking the advice elsewhere on these forums and dropping the stats a bit (1/3 excpet for batting power and bowling speed), the game is exponentionally better. Only 2 sixes were hit in the game with me and my mate, the key was to keep wickets in hand as it was very hard getting in. Not unlike real cricket!!

this wasn't a great match (well i lost) but the indian batsman (ganguly) needed a six off the last ball to get 100. and he actually did. i was amazed that they were smart enough to do that. plus i get much better games when i unlock the tools cheat by completing all tutorials and giving the oposition 100% confidence and putting fielders places so there are many gaps for the batsman to find

i have completed all the tutorials but have not unlocked any cheat ???? why ???

i don't know you have to do training mode every one then you should get it. when in a match go to options then tools comes up and choose that then choose what you want

another good match.i lost but had fun playing it.

hey dhoni dhamaka , if u r just counting the maty hayden over sachin just by his current world cup record then u gotta big problems mate. sachin has outscored matty in last wc. he sacored 673 while this time matty scored something like 650. and also i gotta tell u something. sachin has scored 1894 runs in 1998(single season). he scored 9 odi centuries during that period. i dont think ur poor matty wud ever thought bout doing that ever. also two centuries came in back to back matches verus aus in sharjah in 1998 when he single handedly whiped aussie ass. i also like maty hayden as a batsmen but sachin is far too superior.rem wat bradmen said. only sachin can play like him. he didnt name any matty hayden, even though he is an aussie.:mad :boxing
