It's almost as if he is cheating. ;)
I guess the question that we have to ask is 'The Blazer,' are you cheating? :D

You're doing a brilliant job disgusing the photographs, (which when taken reduce the quality by a lot), keep it up with the presentation but keep it nice and simple and it will look brilliant.

Good story as well - with BLIC you can smash 138 off 35 balls with ease :p

Nice try duffy, but the answer if no! :)
As I've stated before, I bat as both teams so there's an equal chance for either team to win.

Thanks mate! I've been working on improving the presentation, obviously it is nowhere as good as some of the people on this forum, but I'm confident that I am steadily making improvements to this story.

Rameez Raja: Welcome to Master Blaster, the TenSports show that casts a detailed eye over the ongoing ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup in Pakistan. On tonight's show we will analyse Round Four of the Cup and also look forward to the future of domestic cricket in the country. But first of all, let me introduce a very special guest joining me here in the studio tonight: Geoffrey Boycott!

Geoffrey Boycott: Thanks, Rameez. It's good to be back here in Pakistan- this really is a cricketing mad nation! I remember when I came over here last year for the England-Pakistan series, when of course England recieved a royal thrashing by the Pakistanis. The weather's really changed, hasn't it?

Rameez Raja: [Laughing] Yes, it does get very hot here in Pakistan during the summer. Especially in Lahore; temperatures occasionaly soar up past 45 degrees!

Geoffrey Boycott:
Whew! I'm glad I'm not out there playing in this heat. But I must say it's been a great Twenty-20 series so far. I've been following the last few rounds quite closely, and I have a fair idea of how aggresively and superbly these batsmen have been playing!

Rameez Raja: So Geoffrey, you're here for a while aren't you?

Geoffrey Boycott: Yeah, definately. I'm going to stick around for the final round of the Cup, and looking forward to commentating on the last three matches.

Rameez Raja: So, in your opinion, who's going to win the Cup this year?

Geoffrey Boycott: Boy, that's a tough one to call. There's several good teams competing for first place, and I reckon it's going to be a tight finish between the Lahore Lions and the Peshawar Panthers. The Lions of course have a star-studded squad. With the likes of Razzaq, Yousuf and Akmal, they definately have a good chance of winning this year, just like they did last year. If I remember correctly, they've only lost one or two matches in the series, and are in a good position to take first place if they win their last match. The Panthers on the other hand are a very explosive side- Shahid Afridi opens the innings for them, and I've said time and time again that I'm a big fan of the lad. This form of the game is perfect for Afridi- his destructive and devastating hitting make him a crucial player in the team. And lower down the order they have the experienced Younis Khan. The skipper can play according to the situation, either defensively or aggresively.

Rameez Raja: Thanks for your input, Geoffrey. Before we dive straight into the matches of Round Four, let's have a look at a brand new Master Blaster feature: The Super Sixes Table:

SuperSixes.jpg

Rameez Raja: To say that a lot of sixes have been in the ABN-AMRO Cup this year would be an understatement! The Super Sixes Table charts the biggest hitters in the Cup and ranks them one to ten, based on the amount of sixes they've hit.
As we can see Shahnawaz Malik of the Lions is at a safe no.1 position, with an amazing 25 sixes from his four matches! This just goes onto show that it isn't just the well-known Pakistani internationals that achieve in such series; Malik has outdone his team-mates on this occaison!

Geoffrey Boycott: This young man has played some very good knocks for the Lions. His 23 ball century in the last match was simply unbelievable! Malik has burst onto the scene and amazed people by breaking records.

Rameez Raja: Some internationals in the table worthy of mention are Mohammad Yousuf, second place with 17 sixes; Shahid Afridi at fourth place with 14 sixes and Kamran Akmal at fifth place with 13 sixes.

Geoffrey Boycott: Yeah, there's been some truly awesome hitting from these Pakistanis. I know Afridi will be itching to climb higher up that table!

Rameez Raja: Now let's move on and have a quick overview of Round Four of the ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup. As all the teams knew, this was a crucial round as it would ultinately decide which team would still be in a chance of winning the Cup.
The first match of the round saw the Sialkot Stallions take on the Peshawar Panthers.

Geoffrey Boycott: The Panthers won the toss and decided to bat first. Mohammad Asif striked early, taking the important wicket of opener Sarfraz. Afridi then went after the bowlers but he was eventually cleaned up by Asif as well. Jannisar Khan then went onto post the fastest fifty in Twenty-20 cricket: 50 off just 12 balls! With a strike rate of 440.00, Khan had completely destroyed the Stalllions' bowlers by hitting 8 sixes and 1 four. Boy, he was on fire!

JKhan50.jpg

Rameez Raja: Yes, Khan took just 13 minutes to reach his 50 milestone. That innings really inspired the Panthers and lifted their confidence, putting up a 58 run partnership for the third wicket that guided his team out of trouble.

Geoffrey Boycott: Khan ended up making an awe-inspiring 79 off 19 balls before he was dismissed by Mohammad Sami. The middle-order than contributed by putting together small partnerships, but in the end they were bowled out for a healthy 263. Asif and Sami were the pick of the bowlers, sharing seven wickets between themselves.
The Stallions got into a bit of bother the very first over, Shahid Afridi taking a brilliant catch off his own bowling to dismiss Yousuf. However, Faisal Naved was next to the crease and he simply blasted the bowlers to all parts of the ground! His hitting was so aggressive that he managed to equal Khan's new record of a 50 in 12 balls.

Rameez Raja: Let's have a look at Naved's Hawkeye. As we can see, he hit a lot of sixes and fours on the legside, and a few on the offside as well.

Hawkeye6.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: His Abbas also played very well and also scored a 50, the milestone taking him 19 balls to reach.

Abbas50.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: Determinded to guide his team to victory, Naved kept up the relentless hitting and managed to score, what was at time, the fastest 100 ever in Twenty-20 cricket! It was an amazing feat and definately made things a lot easier for the Stallions.
After this the Panthers' bowlers struck back though, completely demolishing the middle-order. Wasti took some crucial wickets that took the Stallions down to 253-9. What followed was one of the most tense moments in the Cup, as the Stallions needed 9 runs off the last over to win, with 1 wicket in hand. Amazingly enough, the tailenders managed to hang on and reached the target with two balls to spare! What a game it was!

Rameez Raja: Yes, it was a real nail-biting finish at the Gaddafi Stadium that night. The Stallions must have been estatic to pull off such a close win. And it definately was a match where records were broken: First the fastest 50 in Twenty-20 was scored and then the fastest 100! Both teams performed very well and it's just a shame that there had to be a losing side!
Next up was the infamous Lahore Lions vs Karachi Dolphins match, where both teams scored in excess of 320 runs.

Geoffrey Boycott: The Dolphins came out to bat first. Abdul Razzaq got smashed for 29 runs off his first over and the batsmen made their intentions clear! Latif was looking to break a record and that's exactly what he did by scoring a 11 ball fifty!

Latif50.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: Nawaz kept the good work going by scoring a 15 ball fifty and Faisal Iqbal become the third man in the innings to score a 50, the feat taking him 19 balls. Such brilliant performances from the top-order batsmen meant that the under-achieving Dolphins actually managed to break the hardest record of all in the Twenty-20 Cup: passing the Lions' 305 total! 63 off 15 from Latif and 91 off 27 from Nawaz meant that the Dolphins ended up posting a massive, massive 375 total.

Rameez Raja: Yes, the whole team worked together as a unit and utterly destroyed the Lions. This definately seemed like a match-winning total, but the drama wasn't over yet!

Geoffrey Boycott: [Laughing] No, indeed it wasn't! A Kamran Akmal golden duck definately wasn't what the Lions wanted, but Yousuf made up for it by posting a 15 ball fifty.

Yousuf50b.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: Shahnawaz Malik, the young man we've been talking about throughout the show, then came out to bat and showed the bowlers no mercy at all! He had the crowd going wild, as he scored a 11 ball fifty and then a 23 ball century! Afridi would've been weeping at that moment!

Rameez Raja: Wow, it was a superb innings from Malik. He went onto score 135, beating team-mate Akmal's highest score in the Cup of 122. You just need to have a look at his Hawkeye to see how wonderfully he played:

Hawkeye8.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: As a great an innings it was, it still wasn't enough to guide the Lions to victory, as they fell just short with a total of 339. Well, it was still a great match. I know there were numerous complaints afterwards about the standards of the pitch, but I thoroughly enjoyed the game. A truly wonderful sight in cricket.

Rameez Raja: Well, Geoffrey, thank you very much for your views. I hope you had home enjoyed this show of Master Blaster, and I now leave you with the highlights of Round Four. From us here at the TenSports studio, good night!

339 runs is a lot of runs for a Twenty20 match and they even lost .

Geoffrey Boycott: Well, here we are. The fifth and final Round of the ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup kicks off tonight. The Sialkot Stallions take on the Lahore Lions in what should be a crucial match for both teams. It's a baking hot night here in Lahore; the players will have to take on a lot of fluids to keep themselves fresh. I'm delighted to say that we'll be able to use TenSport's brand new On-the-Mic technology this Round, which will allow me here in the commentary box to talk to several players down on the pitch. Joining me tonight on On-the-Mic is Stallions' skipper Shoaib Malik and Lions' skipper Abdul Razzaq.
Ah, and news from below is that Malik has won the toss and decided to bat first. Don't go away- We'll be back in just a jiffy with all the first innings action!

SIALKOT STALLIONS 1st INNINGS

Geoffrey Boycott: There's been a bit of change in the Stallions' batting order: Faisal Naved has been moved down all the way to No.6 and Shoaib Malik has taken his place, opening the innings for the first time in the Cup this year.

MalikArrival.jpg
Shoaib Malik talked to Geoffrey Boycott via On-The-Mic

Geoffrey Boycott: Well, the Stallions' batsmen are coming out to open the innings and let's take full advantage of the new On-The-Mic technology and have a quick chat with skipper Shoaib Malik before he sets about scoring runs for his team.
Hello, Shoaib? This is Geoffrey Boycott- Can you hear me down there?

Shoaib Malik: Yes, hello Mr. Boycott.

Geoffrey Boycott: How you doing, son? Can I have a quick few words before the start of the innings?

Shoaib Malik: Yes, of course.

Geoffrey Boycott: I see there's been a bit of change to the batting line up. You've moved up to open the innings with Abbas, whereas Faisal Naved has moved down to the No.6 spot. Any particular reasons for this?

Shoaib Malik: Well, I've been opening the innings for the Pakistan international team for a while now, and I think it's a position that suits me. Plus I had a chat with Faisal bhai and he said he wouldn't mind moving down the order, as there would be less pressure on him then. Not to mention the Lahore Lions are very strong opposition; they have a lot of excellent players, so we need to take full advantage of winning the toss and batting first by posting a good total.

Geoffrey Boycott: Ah, speaking of totals, I'm sure you're well aware of the fact that the condition of this pitch has been changed dramatically to make it a more bowler-friendly track?

Shoaib Malik: Yes, I'm down on the pitch right now and I must admit it looks very green. We all saw the low-scoring match between Rawalpindi and Multan. We're hoping to learn from their mistakes and I'm pretty confident that if we play carefully we can still post a good total.

Geoffrey Boycott: Well, thanks for your input, Shoaib. I'll stop bothering you now and let you concentrate with your batting. Have a good match and best of luck.

Shoaib Malik: Thank you, sir.

Geoffrey Boycott: Lovely young lad, Shoaib Malik. Has a bright international future ahead of him! Well, the match is just about to start- Here we go!
The Stallions started off quite well, knocking the ball around the park and taking full advantage of the fielding restrictions. Abbas and Malik went about at a steady rate of 8.00 runs per over, and were just nearing the 50 milestone when Butt bowled a clever slower ball and caught Abbas off his own bowling, sending the Stallions' opener back for a disappointing 17 off 18 balls. Two balls later, skipper Malik became Butt's second victim, the bowler making a real mess of the stumps with an inswinging 85 mph ball!

Outb.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: Butt sooned claimed his third and the Stallions were in a bit of trouble at 93-3. Imran Nazeer, who had often guided his team out of trouble, was the next man in. Butt's incredible line and length proved too much for Nazeer however, and straight after hitting a boundary he mistimed a cover drive and heard the stumps fly out of the ground behind him!

Out3b.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: Shahid Yousuf then put up 54 run partnership with Faisal Naved that put the Stallions back on track. Yousuf also went on to score a well-deserved 30 ball fifty.

Yousuf50c.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: It was all going well for the Stallions and the game seemed to be back in their favour, but then Haider striked; Naved mishitting an outswinging ball and Kamran Akmal holding onto a difficult catch!

Out2.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: At this point, the Stallions were at 151-5, but Yousuf had a quick chat with Mahmood as he came out to bat and the pair went onto smash all the bowlers around the park. Even Butt, who had looked very dangerous earlier on in the innings, suffered as Yousuf hit three sixes in a row off his bowling! The pair were devastating; they hit the ball over the ropes again and again and managed to rack up 50 runs in the last four overs! Shahid Yousuf finished the innings not out on 94 off 48 balls, and his partner Mahmood had contributed as well as he finished not out on 33 off just 16 balls.
Well, the Sialkot Stallions have ended up posting 209-5 off their 20 overs, which is a brilliant score in any Twenty-20 match, but even more so on this green wicket! Yousuf and Mahmood really picked up the pace during the last few overs and it's just a shame that Yousuf finished just six runs short off his century! Let's have a quick look at the scorecards before we head back to Rameez in the TenSports studio.

LAHORE LIONS 1st INNINGS

Geoffrey Boycott: Kamran Akmal and Imran Farhat came out to start the Lions' run chase. They have a lot of work to do as 209 is a very good score on this type of pitch. A run rate of above 10 runs per over, and scoring won't be easy if Shoaib Malik sets up some clever fields.

FarhatArrival.jpg
Imran Farhat has under-achieved this year in the Cup!

Geoffrey Boycott: Pakistani pacemen Mohamamd Asif and Mohammad Sami opened the bowling attack for the Stallions, troubling both openers with their line and length. Asif was first to strike, Akmal misreading a slower ball and sending it straight into Yousuf's hands. The Pakistani wicketkeeper left for yet another disappointing score (7 off 13 balls). A few overs later Mughal was introduced into the attack and he struck almost straight away, an 85 mph delivery trapping Farhat in front of his stumps- The umpire had no option but to give him out!

FarhatDismissal.jpg
Hawkeye10.jpg
Hawkeye shows that it was a good decision.

Geoffrey Boycott: Losing both openers early on in the innings certainly wasn't the start the Lions were hoping for! But Mohammad Yousuf and Abdul Razzaq were at the crease now and hoped to rebuild the innings. The Stallions' bowlers were keeping them quiet however; the ball was really moving about and the batsmen were constantly on the back foot. Shoaib Malik got the crucial breakthrough for the Stallions, getting rid of opposing skipper Razzaq for a duck! Razzaq had been frustrated by seven dot balls and then tried to slog the ball over the bowler's head, but the spin decieved him and the ball went straight up into the air, and Abbas got underneath it and caught an easy catch.

RazzaqDeparture.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: Well, what a disappointment for the Lions' captain. Let's use On-The-Mic to have a chat with him.
Hello? Razzaq, are you there?

[Static]

Geoffrey Boycott: Hello? You there?

[Static]

Geoffrey Boycott: Hah, well it seems like that we either have a problem with On-The-Mic, or else Razzaq doesn't want to talk right now! He must be fuming after getting out for a duck!
After that things calmed down a bit- Mohammad Yousuf and Shahnawaz Malik, two great players who have both scored 100s in this Cup, got things going for the Lions' again. They played some beautiful strokes, scoring at just under the required run rate. It was Yousuf again who helped his team out of trouble, scoring a well-deserved 50 at a crucial time in the match.

Yousuf50d.jpg

Hawkeye11.jpg
MoYo hit the ball to all parts of the ground!

Geoffrey Boycott: Sadly for Lahore it didn't last much longer, Mughal getting the danger-man out for 57 off 37 balls. This triggered a middle-order collapse, as Malik, Azmat and Ahmed were dismissed in quick succession.

Out4.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: Mughal ended his spell with excellent figures of 3-26. At this point the Lions' had all but lost the match, with the score at 138-7, and with a required runrate of above 20. The tail put up a bit of resistance before being cleaned up by Abbas and Ahmed. In the end, the Lions were all out for 161. All in all, it was a bit of a disappointing innings- Other than Mohammad Yousuf, none of the players really contributed with the bat. Akmal, Farhat and Razzaq, who are key players in the side, were all out for low scores. Credit goes to the Sialkot Stallions however; in the first innings they batted really well and then in the second innings they put up a great bowling display to deny the Lions victory.
Well, can the Lahore Lions still win the Cup from here? It seems unlikely now that they've lost their last match, but we'll have to see how the remaining four teams perform in these last two matches. So, a quick look at the scorecard before we head back to the TenSports studio:

g.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: A very warm welcome to all our viewers! We are here tonight in a packed Gaddafi Stadium for the Cup-deciding tie between the Peshawar Panthers and the Multan Tigers.

Remember, the Rawalpindi Rams and the Sialkot Stallions are currently in joint 1st position with 12 pts. Peshawar Panthers and Multan Tigers are in joint 2nd position with 8 pts, and the winning team tonight will have a chance to contest for the Cup. However, Rawalpindi still have a match to go and if they win that then they'll finish top with 16 pts, but if they lose then it'll be a much closer thing as four teams will finish joint 1st, meaning the winner will be calculated based on the teams' NRR.

Still with me? Good! I have to say that the stadium is completely jam-packed tonight; there isn't an empty seat in sight! The atmosphere is intense- the fans know that this is a crucial match in deciding the Cup winner, and they are here to give full support to their team. The match got delayed 45 minutes because of some unseasonal rain here in Lahore, but the covers are off now and here come the two captains come out with the umpire for the coin-toss; just listen to that crowd!

Well, Younis Khan has won the toss and decided to bat first. The stadium is buzzing- They know who's coming out to open the innings for Peshawar! Don't go away, we'll be back in a moment with all the action!

PESHAWAR PANTHERS 1st INNINGS

Geoffrey Boycott: The crowd have gone wild: Every fan is standing on his feet, cheering and applauding, because one man has walked out into the middle. Oh yes! Shahid Afridi has come to the party! You can see the fear in the bowler's eyes as 'The Beast' takes guard; this man has the potential to be devastating- He'll be looking to end this year's Cup with a bang!

AfridiArrival3.jpg
Shahid Afridi is perfect for Twenty-20 cricket!

Geoffrey Boycott: Bin Nasir has been given the new ball and here he comes charging in! Dot ball; Afridi has a huge swing of the bat and misses. Second ball, Afridi taps it away for an easy single. Sarfraz then left a few good balls from Bin Nasir before smashing the last ball of the over for four.
Rauf was the bowler at the other end- He started off with three dot balls to Afridi. But enough was enough; next ball Afridi lofted the ball over mid-off for a four. This got the crowd going! Next ball, too short- Afridi smashes it over the legside boundary for a massive six. Last ball of the over, Afridi taps it away and gets a quick single, keeping the strike.
Bin Nasir bowled a good over, conceding only 4 runs. Rauf again got smashed in his over, this time by Sarfraz. The Panthers were off to a steady start, and Inzamam tried to change things by bringing spinner Ali on. The plan backfired though, as Afridi came down the track twice in the over and slogged the ball over mid-off for two huges sixes; Boy o' boy, they went back rows! The crowd were estatic- This is what they had come to see!
Anwar also suffered at the other end, being hit for four by Sarfraz before Afridi launched into him and hurled bat against the ball, hitting the ball way back into the upper stands! Next ball, Anwar came in with the quicker one, but Afridi read it straight away and made room for himself and played an unbelieveable shot to smash another devastating six over the ropes!
Ali eventually struck though, coming in with the doosra and making a real mess of Afridi's stumps. Afridi had made a big swing for the ball; any contact and it would've gone out of the stadium, such was the sheer aggression of the shot! A wicket is a wicket though; the Tigers will be delighted with this breakthrough.

Out5.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: Shahid Afridi ended the Cup with a quickfire 39 off 18 balls. Skipper Younis Khan was the next man in, and he fully intended to take advantage from the Panthers' quick start. The Tigers' bowlers had other plans however, and Ali struck again, this time taking the crucial wicket of Younis Khan (6 off 6 balls). Sarfraz was quick to follow, getting caught out by Khilji.
Following this, J Khan and R Afridi were at the crease and they decided to build a big partnership by playing sensible shots against the bowlers. A flurry of fours came from both batsmen as they kept the run rate above 10 per over. This partnership steadily became more and more frustrating for the Tigers, and by the end of the 12th over, Khan reached his hard-fought 50:

JKhan50b.jpg
Hawkeye12.jpg
Hawkeye shows that Khan played shots all over the ground.

Geoffrey Boycott: The pair batted very well to ease the Panthers past the the 150 mark, and soon R Afridi reached his 50 as well:

RAfridi50.jpg
Hawkeye13.jpg
R Afridi scored his runs very quickly!

Geoffrey Boycott: This record-breaking 4th wicket stand lasted 127 runs before Bin Nasir finally struck for the Tigers, dimissing R Afridi for a very well-played 59 off 25 balls. Khan was still going very strongly, and was nearing his century before mistiming a slower ball from Bin Nasir and sending the ball straight back into the bowler's hands!

JKhanDismissal.jpg

Geoffrey Boycott: By this time however, the Panthers were already in a very good position with a 200+ score; remember this is the same green pitch where two teams crashed to scores of 80 just a while ago. Rauf took another wicket before the Peshawar Panthers' innings wrapped up for 214-6 from their 20 overs. The crowd stood up to applaud the batsmen as they walked off; this was a job well done! On the flip side, Bin Nasir had been the Tigers' best bowler by far with figures of 2-26. So a quick look at the scorecard before we head back to the TenSports studio:
