AC09 Patch open beta 1 released - download it here

I know the online feature is not enabled in this beta version. But what will happen if we play online and one guy uses a patch and another one doesnt? Will the game run according to the new patch or the default one?
 
I should get this patch in a while, I want to see if Mortaza and Rubel Hossain are any faster...
 
Just had a 20 over game in HARD mode, few noticeable changes are

bowling length is changed. Ai bowls almost every ball short of length only few fuller length deliveries (+)
AI had not bowled a single yorker (+)
Edges now carrying to slips(+)
Bowling speeds are adjusted pathan bowls at 131 and z.khan at 139 (now i have some decent bowling when playing online) (++)

Now poorly timed shots goes for boundaries (-)
batting seems like difficult because of the pace of the game increased but still 6's and 4's are easy (-)
When i defended few deliveries batsman left the ball. dono whether its a bug or a added feature.

Overall major tweaks done in bowling (+)
Batting difficulty still to be tweaked (-)

Good to hear that. As i mostly play this game online. It will be fun again.
 
The obvious change in the game is the length of bowling which completely changes the game from a "get the ball on the yellow dot" game to a real cricketing experience.

I played a number of overs on normal and the ball suddenly had real pace and bite and bounce to it. I have never experienced that kind of sensation in a cricket game before. The ball felt like a hard piece of material travelling at pace and the bounce felt real. Excellent.

I really felt for the first time that I could truely intimidate and threaten a batsmen and at the same time vary things all over the pitch.

This sounds fantatastic, looks like i will have to wait patiently until the ps3 release but its just so exciting... :banana2
 
Just played a test match on HARD (India (me) vs SL). Some quick points:

Lengths have been tweaked.. now good length looks like good lekngth. Can hit the the top of off.

AI more cautious.

Edges carry.

Sometime middle order AI come in and try to play recklessly although it was 1 occasion.

Batting is easy.. need to be tweaked.

i am facing this problem when i try to patch the game :(
its an original game.......i purchased it from ebay.
idk what the problem is
 
Sounds really great. Unfortunately I have the downloaded version from Gamesplanet.


It sucks to be me.


I suppose it would be asking too much for a gamesplanet compatible version of the beta, but I hope they at least release the final version at the same time (or very shortly afterward)

its like whole new cricket game, hats off to Transmission and at Codemasters, just so many postive things attempted here in the beta.
I hope they fix as much in ps3 version

I find the bowling more of a challange to hit mark , the speeds are great
i feel in 20/20 its gone to much to the bowler having played a few games.

The batting ai is a lot better still hits fair few boundrys but thats cricket
the spinner no longer get tonked everywhere.

Catching is know near impossible know , with everything moving so fast the window to catch is far to fast.

The ai bowling miles better but on HARD its very very hard to play cricket shots (which is still better then before) i think needs some tweeking and i think we might have just to many slip catches (which look great)

over all its like a new game wow wow :happy

Yep have to agree.

In normal mode I just slogged 109 of 5 overs. Now anyone who knows me knows that that is pretty frikkin amazing! Good news was was that AI really went for it....I am too good though!:)

Bowling is brilliant now, really brilliant but batting needs tweaking.

I could backfoot slog everything to the boundary whether it was a poor or good or perfect shot: even slogged Freddie for a few sixes.

This was in normal mode of course but seems to match your story too.

What are the AI run rates like? still aggressive?


They definitely play more sensible and to the situation in the game. But a bad ball will still get punished big time; but that is only fair.:)
 
Could someone maybe do a gameplay video? If that's allowed of course.
 
Only batted for 3 overs and this beta patch is so much better than the original game it's not funny. I know I was one of the most critical of the original game, simply because I care so much about getting a proper cricket game and I was massively disappointed at the glaring issues. This is clearly a MASSIVE step forward.

First ball, Mitchell Johnson bowls an inswinger to Strauss, it actually swings, goes over the top of the stumps and continues to swing further down the leg side with Haddin having to dive to get it. My jaw hurts from where it hit the ground. :D Also, with the change in ideal length, there have been a couple of animations I've never seen before.

Over time it'll get easier, that's just the way it is, but with Colin's player editor we'll be able to reduce batting abilities.

Fair play to you guys at Transmission, would've been very easy to just pack up and enjoy seeing it at the top of the sales charts. Thank you for sticking around and proving to us all that you really do care about getting the game right and not just the money at the end of it. :)

EDIT: Having just alt-tabbed out to post this, I go back into the game and have no sound. Not had that before so I'll try and replicate it.

CPU dont take easy singles, sometimes they don't ran for the 2nd one where a 2nd one is easily possible

Get back in crease is not working on few scenarios, thats why keeper can easily throw the balls into the stumps.

During Free hit, run out not given

Laoding taking much more time than previous one.
