I'm really tempted to go for a proper rogue pick, but ultimaty think I'll play it safe and go for Alastair Cook. Sorry for the slow pick - major WiFi issues the last week or so

@Bevab

I'll go with Fiery :eng::bwl:Fred Trueman, one of the quickest English bowlers in history. What made him remarkable though was his sheer consistency and ability to run through sides that has many claiming that he was England's most talented pacer for not being a flash in the pan like other quicks and of course, for that excellent average of 21.

Alastair Cook has already been picked

:eng: :bat: Ken Barrington

Test stats - 6,808 runs @ 58.67 (20 centuries, best 256) in 82 matches
First-class stats - 31,714 runs @ 45.63 (76 centuries, best 256) in 533 matches

As a top-order batsman, Barrington averaged a slightly absurd 67.47 in Test cricket, and despite a reputation as a stonewaller actually scored at almost exactly the rate of his contemporaries - he just did it for far longer than they did. Also capable of decent leg-breaks if required.

His bio from wiki

"Ian Terence Botham, Baron Botham, Kt, OBE (born 24 November 1955) is an English cricket commentator, member of the House of Lords and a former cricketer who has been chairman of Durham County Cricket Club since 2017. Widely regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in cricket history, Botham represented England in both Test and One-Day International cricket. He played most of his first-class cricket for Somerset, and also for Worcestershire, Durham and Queensland. He was an aggressive right-handed batsman and, as a right arm fast-medium bowler, was noted for his swing bowling. He generally fielded close to the wicket, predominantly in the slips. In Test cricket, Botham scored 14 centuries with a highest score of 208, and from 1986 to 1988, he held the world record for the most Test wickets until overtaken by fellow all-rounder Sir Richard Hadlee. He took five wickets in an innings 27 times and 10 wickets in a match four times. In 1980, he became the second player in Test history to complete the "match double" of scoring 100 runs and taking 10 wickets in the same match."
