He was going to be my next pick, so instead I shall go for...

:ind: :bat: Prithvi Shaw

189 runs @ 31.50 (SR: 113.85, best 49) in 6 ODI matches

I really wanted someone who would demolish some of the tripe that's going to be bowled by the other teams, and Prithvi Shaw seems like my man. Despite his modest ODI record, he boasts a List A average of 56 and strike rate of 125. He's going to be my enforcer at the top of the order, and if he comes off he could easily replicate that career-best 227 not out. Despite having the hairline and build of a middle-aged bricklayer, he's still only 22 as well and yet to hit his prime.

1. :ind: :bat: Prithvi Shaw (6 caps)

Rob Bailey and Michael Vandoort.

Didn't want to succumb to the list this early, but players I have in my head that were shite (read England 1990-2012) are still slightly too good :lol

:saf: :bat: Jimmy Cook

67 runs @ 16.75 (SR: 56.77, best 35) in 4 ODI matches

Time to pick another of @blockerdave 's favourite players. I was tempted to strengthen the bowling a little bit, but having had a little look at how few good middle-order options I have left I think I need to invest in another good opener to help make that less of an issue. Jimmy Cook's 10,000 List A runs, 24 centuries and best of 177 certainly serve to show what he might have been capable of if he'd had the opportunity to play international cricket as a younger man.

Bill Lawry please. Slightly cheaty pick as he only ever played that first ODI that was a makeup, but still valid, and I'm happy to have him. @qpeedore
