No. The West Indies is part of the Carribean (except Guyana) but is not the complete Carribean. The Dominican Republic, Cuba, Guadaloupe, Puerto Rico, The Bahamas and Haiti to name a few are all in the Carribean but are not classed as part of the West Indies.

The Cayman Islands were part of the West Indies up until 1962, they were classed as part of Jamaica priror to then, as were the Turks and Caicos Islands up until 1972.

It should be pointed out that there is no such country as the West Indies. It is made up (for cricketing purposes) of a collection of independent countries, UK overseas territories, one Dutch overseas territory and one US overseas territory.

Yeah I figured that there was no such country as West Indies.

But I was just under the impression that the West Indies was compiled of all the Carribean countries.

And that maybe Bermuda was arroganct and wanted to be independant and go thier own way ect.

If the USA really took to Cricket I think they could be a force to be reckoned with. They have the best athletes! Another promising sign is that there are non asian names in the top scorers list. Because that is not a good way to spread the culture of cricket (recent immegrants playing)

Asians aren't the only immigrants who are playing, though. Australians, English and players from the West Indies also play as immigrants in some of these teams (especially the USA).

Nice to seeing Bermuda doing well, and will be interesting to see how they fare in the World Cup.
Doesnt one of their players play for leicestershire or something? I remember an article about one of the youngsters at Leicestershire being able to qualify to play for them, and thus could feature in the WC? Am i spouting rubbish here? (it wouldnt be the first time)

Not sure about anyone from Leicestershire, but David Hemp, the Glamorgan batsman will be playing for them from November.

I was so pissed not to see a mention of this on Sports Center (ESPN). They showed a five minute segment on the "Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament"!!!
