How do you change from default.

You can change the skin from here.

User CP >> Edit Options >> Miscellaneous Options(at the bottom of the same page) >> Forum Skin.

It's java-based so check your error console; try another browser etc.
It's old software so not much chance of fixing it.

Yeah it happens from time to time and really regardless of anything you do - but as Colin says the game is a bit old and we haven't got much of an idea where to look to find the actual issue.

Sometimes you'll just get lucky and it will work.
