one more suggestton which make ur game real is bowler like kallis , albie morkel and irfaan pathaan , wicketkepper move to bhind the wicket and some time they take some distance behind wicket ,second is wicketkepper can change their helmet and cap as per requirement same for batsmen if batsmen played against spinner in sub continent wear only cap in middle over

Great idea there, the ability for the keeper to stand up to the stumps to medium-pacers.

Will there be a manual replay button this time? Wasn't in IC10 or AC09...

...there's a great little user-replays patch you can download for C09 on PC :yes

...Ahhh, well that's a bummer. But yeah, having a user-replays feature is definitely a must, also means we're not subjected to replays for absolutely everything after every delivery. Option to turn that stuff on and off makes sense.

Hard to build it on when they have to create new code from scratch.

This is my biggest concern. Starting from scratch is almost never a good thing. You are doomed to make the same mistakes.

Ummm. Couldn't disagree more with this: You absolutely have the option to avoid those "same mistakes"!

You DO, however, have the option of making some fun ALL-NEW ones!

But I think we'll try and avoid that...

Superb News!!! Can't wait to play the Online Multiplayer and once again Smashing the opponents all over the parks the way I did in Ashes 09 If someone remembers :) There were some great players as well :)

From a dev perspective this is definitely wrong. Old code is tested code. It has bug fixes. It handles special cases. New code is untested, filled with bugs, and unstable. For example, Ashes 09 with beta 2 was a very solid base to build a game from. Look at other commercial games like NBA live series by EA which failed and had to scrap their Live 10 version because the code base was rewritten.

I agree that old code is tested and stable. It is also incredibly restrictive in adding NEW things to it because it wasn't built with those things in mind. It becomes unadaptable and out of date as you (try to) build on top of it without breaking it.
Starting again lets you build something that suits your needs properly, learning from past lessons. It's part of the reason that (generally speaking) games get better and better the older the platform: people learn new tricks and better ways to do things as they go.
So long as you don't rush it, which usually means botching things to save time, creating what our Producer at Trickstar refers to as "Technical Debt" (TM PENDING :)), you can test it properly and everything will be fine.

And indeed their Live 11 version... And their Live 12 version... Obviously I'm just speculating, but I suspect that's not 100% due to new code...

Look at the EA Cricket releases over the years, the same bugs managed to be left unfixed despite using the same codebase for 4 releases in a row.

There's risks either way, using the old code means you get the benefits of the tried nature of it, but you also get the limitations that might have held the game back from being what they wanted.

I am interested what components of the game will be radically different in taking a fresh look after scrapping everything after IC2010 - even if Trickstar can't say that sort of stuff now, it'd be interesting if they could give an insight after it's all done on how they came at the blank canvas of a cricket game the second time around.

All EA really did between C2k4 and C07 was update the rosters slightly each time. As Chief said there are pros and cons to new code.

rehan.
