Milton Keynes, UK ? September 25, 2012 ? 505 Games, has today announced it will be bringing a brand new gaming experience to cricket fans all over the world in 2013. Celebrating the most intense and long standing international test cricket rivalry, the game launches in time for the unique double header Ashes Series that takes place in England and then a few months later in Australia.

ASHES CRICKET 2013, currently in development at Melbourne-based cricket specialists Trickstar Games, promises the most authentic cricket experience to date and boasts exclusive licenses from both The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket Australia (CA).

Due for release next summer on home consoles and PC, ASHES CRICKET 2013, will be the ultimate companion to the live action across the year. Other game modes will reflect all the nuances of the international game across its many formats whilst truly capturing the passion and excitement of live matches. National rivalries, venues and player personalities are perfectly captured in the most advanced simulation of the sport yet, as participants fight for the pride of their nation in either solo play or with up to three friends in local multiplayer matches or take on the world online.

Luke Bould, Head of Commercial Marketing ? Cricket Australia said ?The launch of the new Ashes Cricket 2013 is an important step in bringing fans closer to the game than ever before. Gaming is an important part of cricket's entertainment offering and plays a role in achieving our objective to be Australia's favourite sport. 2013 is a huge cricket year, with back to back Ashes series, and we look forward to seeing the tradition and excitement of the Ashes brought to life through Ashes Cricket 2013?

"2013 is another big year for International Cricket and it doesn?t get much bigger than the Ashes Series? commented Ralph Pitt-Stanley, General Manager for UK & Export at 505 Games ?The oldest rivalry in the sport recommences on 10th July 2013, with the back to back Ashes Series in the UK and Australia so it?s a really exciting time to be working with the ECB, Cricket Australia and such a great development partner as Trickstar on this product and we can?t wait to share more details with fans everywhere?.

John Perera, Commercial Director ECB added: ?The ECB is committed to bringing new fans into the sport, and the Ashes Cricket 2013 game will do just that in conjunction with the real thing - the Investec Ashes Series 2013. Most of the current England side are keen gamers, and will no doubt be spending a lot of time playing it whilst preparing for the real thing come the Summer.?
Further details on ASHES CRICKET 2013 will be revealed exclusively over the coming months via the official website community forums at Ashes Series Cricket 2013 The Video Game, and on Ashes Cricket 2013 | Facebook and Ashes Cricket 2013 (ashescricket13) on Twitter

Sigh. About time too. Now, hopefully it lives upto some expectations. I am sure even a half decent cricket game would sell at this stage!

I'll be interested whether Codemasters not having any involvement will make for a better or worse game - on one hand it might mean less funding, but on the other it might mean more flexibility for Trickstar in making game decisions.

And that, folks, is a NEWSBOMB? KABBLOOIE!

First of all, it?s SO very good to be able to talk about this now: You cannot begin to understand how delighted we all are to have put the old band back together, and with a great new publishing partner: 505 Games have been incredibly supportive, and are so enthusiastic about pushing Cricket games to a whole new level. It?s great to have that behind us.

Now then, I?m sure you?re going to have a lot of questions? and we?re going to get to those. But let?s kick off with a few key facts.

We?ve been beavering away for quite a while now getting things in place to deliver a fantastic Ashes game. Everything in the game is being completely built from scratch from line 1 to line 15000 (Hey! I?m just the producer: as far as I know, they all still write in BASIC don?t they?). This is all-new.

I can tell you also that the plan is that the community involvement of Ashes Cricket 2013 will be unprecedented ? the countdown begins now and you guys are going to be with us all the way (if you want to be!). We?re counting down to the series, and we?ll be keeping you very regularly updated with progress, and you will be able to get to know the whole team along the way. We need your help, as ever, to make this the best Cricket gaming experience to date. I will be patrolling the forums, both here with our old friends PC, and at the official game forum here: The Official Ashes Cricket 2013 Forum

There will obviously be stuff I can?t answer right now. It?s not that I don?t want to, but there?s still a way to go, and as far as parts of the game goes, I?ve learnt from past experience that laying out my hopes can be interpreted as promises? we don?t want that to happen again. It doesn?t do either of us any good mentally. :)
Also there?s still some more partners that we want to bring on board that aren?t yet finalised, so I?ll be sticking clear of any confirmations of those (although obviously we?ll tell you just as soon as I can!).

Otherwise, feel free to ping me your questions! I?ll do my best to answer them,

It?s very, very good to be back. :yes

Wow! Finally..great news for cricket games lovers :cheers

ah! finally something is arriving...
but will there be only ashes tournament like ashes 09?

God what a wait, still it's great to have a new cricket
game coming next year. to codemasters, i hope the game
sells more than ashes 2009 and ic2010 together :D

:eek:awesome news! eagerly waiting for its release:D
