ATI resolution problem

Hey i just switched from a nvidia 8600gt to a 4870 ati card i uinstalled the nvidia drivers and used driver cleaner and installed the new ati drivers after reboot but when i put my native resolution 1680x1050 it appears distorted and not like it was before and also It wont allow to change the refresh rate for lower resolutions

Any help would be appriciated

Sorry to open these threads but i have now fixed it ?Just felt awkward using ati ccc instead of nvidia control panel
