Toss

My Thoughts

First Innings

Bangladesh got off to an alright start through Nafees and Ashraful, but that was short lived as they crumbled to be all out for 164 inside 45 overs. Mills, Hira and Styris all bowled brilliantly, but the innings belonged to the 'Tower'. Daryl Tuffey picked up an exhilarating hattrick, taking the wickets of Mahmudullah LBW, Islam bowled, and Jubair caught behind in three successive deliveries.

Second Innings

Our chase was led fantastically well by Martin Guptill. He showed signs of aggression, but more importantly set about to bat the full 50 overs. Kitchen and Nicol supported him well, as the three of them chased down the Bangladeshi target with 44 balls remaining.

Post Match

We were very happy as it was only our second win on our World Tour, and a very easy one over an always improving Bangladeshi side. Daryl Tuffey was named man of the match for his match high four wickets, including that elusive hattrick. We know Bangladesh will come back strongly, so we still need to work hard in the nets over the next few days, as well as cherish the win.

Hattrick by Daryl tuffey, great.

Feelin' sorry for Guptill, one more run.

This lineup shows that half of NZ INT team is made up of Auckland Aces.:sarcasm

Guts for Guptill :(

Well played though :)

Were 'egsilerating' and 'illusive' on purpose? :p

Were 'egsilerating' and 'illusive' on purpose? :p

English is my worst subject. :(
Doesn't egsilerating mean exciting or something like that, and doesn't illusive means rare or something like that???

Exhilarating and elusive are the two words you're looking for :p I don't even think egsilerating is a word.

Brilliant, Aces get their first win :thumbs
Daryl Tuffey, what a bowler
Martin Guptill, What a Batter
Auckland Aces what a Team!

Toss

Auckland Aces won the toss and chose to bowl first.

My Thoughts

First Innings

We got the perfect start as Iqbal was caught at short leg first ball of the match, but that was short lived as Nafees and Ashraful combined for a massive 137 second wicket partnership. However once we broke through there was very little resistance from the rest of the Bangaldeshi batsmen, as they folded to finish on 224 for 9. Most of our bowlers played their part, our pace bowlers picked up wickets despite being expensive, while our slow/medium bowlers were very economical.

Second Innings

Chasing this moderate total we needed a fast start, but we never got one due to Kitchen and Nicol shutting up shop. Guptill continued to play his shots, but the runs never really came from the other end. We went into the final ten overs need a bit over six an over, and it wasn't until de Boorder and Hopkins came together that we got back in the game. They took 14 runs off the 44th over, and 17 runs off the 45th over getting us well ahead of the required run rate, before Mills brought us home with a couple of boundaries.

Post Match

We got some good signs from our lower order who responded well under pressure, but our middle order continue to fail in the one day game. Our five bowlers were starting to become pretty settled in our one day line-up, but due the massive Australian tour coming up we may do some experimenting in our final match against Bangladesh.

Man of the match Shahriar Nafees stood tall, as he amassed 108 in a losing effort.

Auckland's skipper Gareth Hopkins played a vital role down the order, as he and de Boorder combined for a quick fire 47 run partnership.

nice presentation and a nice win for ACES there.

Well played, Guptill is continuing his flawless season as well as Mills.:thumbs

Very less writing, please increase it.
Didn't attract me. :yes

There's not meant to be much... ;)
I want to get through as many matches as possible, which is why my updates aren't very attractive.
My presentation style won't suit some, but I'm happy with how the updates are flowing at the moment.
If I start putting more time into each update, the speed that they're getting posted at will slow down dramatically.
As I said at the beginning, this is more of a diary for me than a proper story.
